As a phone that delivers arguably the best ever smartphone camera experience, the Nokia Lumia 1020 has been a flagship device for that smartphone manufacturer. The handset is offered in a multitude of color options, like yellow, white and black, a large True HD+ display is on board, as is ample RAM memory. And heading into the all-important holiday shopping season in the United States and other countries, the Nokia Lumia 1,020 Windows phone was recently spotted at the Amazon Wireless online store with a newly reduced price tag that starts around $75 on contract.
Delivering the PureView Phase 1 and Phase 2 mobile camera technologies of Nokia together for the first time, a six element lens and Carl Zeiss optics combines with Nokia’s pixel binning technology to deliver what many smartphone shoppers and analysts agree is an outstanding array of abilities and performance features. And aside from the excellent camera package, sound quality has been boosted as well. The Nokia Lumia 1020 comes equipped with special high-quality HAAC mics that are capable of hi-fi stereo recording.
The polycarbonate body is tough and durable, and the Nokia Lumia 1020 runs on the latest edition of the Microsoft Windows Phone 8 operating system, representing visuals in more than 16 million separate colors. A polarizing filter and special light and proximity sensors are built into the display, offering excellent visibility in direct light and sunlight, and conserving battery power by automating certain display tasks. The True HD+ resolution runs 768 by 1,280 pixels, covering the 4.50 inch AMOLED display at the rate of 334 pixels per inch.
Battery performance is outstanding and nearly double the industry average, with a full 19.10 hours of talk time provided after a full charge of the handset’s 2,000 mA battery. The Nokia Lumia 1020 supports wireless charging, and can hold a charge in standby mode for more than two weeks. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 system chip, the Nokia Lumia 1020 hardware package includes 2.0 GB of RAM memory, an Adreno 225 graphics processor, a dual core 1.5 GHz CPU and 32 GB of built-in storage space. Also included is 7 GB of free SkyDrive virtual storage.
The critically praised camera on the back of the phone delivers a 41 megapixel sensor with optical image stabilization in both auto and manual focus, recording video in 1,080P HD resolution and 30 frames per second. A self timer has been included, as well as an extensive special effects package, 4X lossless digital zoom, a video light, both LED and Xenon flashes, and technical features such as exposure compensation, ISO control and white balance presets. The secondary camera is a front facing chat cam with a 1.2 megapixel sensor, and Dolby Digital Plus sound enhancement is on board, along with a Stereo FM radio with RDS display.
