If you happen to live in Canadian territories north of the border and have WIND Mobile for your wireless provider of choice, it looks like you are in for a few surprises because the carrier is in the process of beefing up its lineup of smartphones. And if you happen to be interested in giving the Windows Phone experience a try, all the better for you because WIND Mobile is adding the Nokia Lumia 710 to its stable of devices. The Nokia handset was previously a Rogers exclusive but that exclusivity has already ended and WIND Mobile is rather quick on its heels in offering the handset.
In fact, the official site of WIND Mobile already has the Nokia Lumia 710 some information about the handset but sad to say, details are being kept by the wireless provider to a minimum at the moment. The only details that came with the handset on the website are those of its 3 top features and a big “Coming Soon” below these. In short, an exact date of release for the handset hasn’t been nailed yet. In the same vein, the pricing info for the Nokia Lumia 710 is nowhere to be found as well. At the moment, Rogers is offering the handset for only $229.99 off-contract so it will be in the best interest of WIND Mobile to match, even best the price point set by Rogers to entice would-be Windows Phone fanboys to its fold.
Actually, the addition of the Nokia Lumia 710 to the stable of devices of WIND Mobile didn’t come as a surprise given the fact that the Canadian wireless provider pretty much uses the same 1700 AWS bands that T-Mobile uses in US shores so there is always a big possibility of whatever device on releases, the other follows suit. While waiting for release dates and pricing information of the Nokia Lumia 710 version of WIND Mobile, let us take a look at the specs sheet of the handset which we can find below to get us reacquainted with the “comeback device” of the Finnish smartphone manufacturer in US shores.
The original version of the Nokia Lumia 710 reached official status when Nokia announced the device in October but it wasn’t until December when the handset finally made its debut in the shelves. Despite being labeled as a mid-range device, the specs sheet of the handset is still impressive with a QualComm MSM8255 SnapDragon chipset leading the charge under the hood. It has a Scorpion processor clocked at 1.4 GHz while its RAM is pegged at 512 MB. The storage space on the device comes up to 8GB while its 3.7-inch display is of the TFT type and is made from Gorilla Glass. In addition to that, the display of the Nokia Lumia 710 uses Nokia’s ClearBlack Display technology and has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. It only has one shooter though and it is a 5MP rear-facing camera capable of 720p video capture.
