The Nokia Lumia 810 arrived on the T-Mobile wireless network in the United States on November 15, delivering the latest Microsoft Windows Phone operating system. The Phone 8 operating system allows the Nokia Lumia 810 smartphone to sync perfectly with your Microsoft Xbox video game console or Microsoft powered PC or tablet. The handset also delivers a very fast processor, a large high-resolution display, 4G speeds and Near Field Communications (NFC) support out-of-the-box.
The handset is currently available from Amazon during their annual holiday sales event, and the 4.30 inch Clear Black Super AMOLED display with WVGA resolution is the largest made by Nokia for a Windows phone. A Carl Zeiss camera package and lens is included, and because the handset runs on the HSPA+ 4G network as opposed to LTE, the battery life is better than its Nokia Lumia 820 sibling. Smartphone shoppers who purchase the Nokia Lumia 810 also have the option of selecting wireless charging for the handset.
Measuring 5.03 x 2.69 x 0.43 inches (127.8 x 68.4 x 10.9 mm) in size, the Nokia Lumia 810 weighs approximately 5.11 ounces (145 g). The camera package on board the handset includes a rear mounted 8.0 megapixel camcorder which provides video capture at 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution (1,080p HD) and 30 frames per second, and is equipped with an f/2.2 lens and dual LED flash. The handset automatically offers continuous autofocus while recording video, and the front facing 1.2 megapixel chat cam can be used for video calls.
The large 4.3 inch Clear Black Super AMOLED display delivers more than 16 million colors at a rate of 217 pixels per inch, for an overall resolution of 480 x 800 pics. Standard capacitive, multitouch gestures are used to navigate the handset and it comes with a light sensor that automatically adjusts the display brightness, compensating for the amount of ambient light that is hitting the screen. The built-in proximity sensor dims the display when the Nokia Lumia 810 Windows Phone 8 is lifted to your face to make or receive a voice call, helping conserve battery life.
That helps the 1,800 mA battery deliver 10.3 hours of talk time from a single charge, with standby battery power running nearly 17 days. When in 3G mode, the handset delivers 10.2 hours of talk time and 15 days standby from a single charge. A dual core 1.5 GHz Krait central processor joins an Adreno 225 GPU in the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 microchip package on board the handset, and 1.0 GB of RAM system memory is present. 8.0 GB of storage are built-in, and a microSD slot provides storage expansion capability.
