Like the popular Nokia Lumia 920 that came before it, a PureView camera is on board, this one bearing a Carl Zeiss wide-angle Tessar lens, simultaneous HD video and image capture, and special software “lenses” which deliver premium features. Optical image stabilization (OIS) combines with a floating lens to ensure every shot and video is captured in focus, and the Lumia 928 comes with Cinemagraph, Smart Shoot, Panorama, and Bing Vision software applications.
These special camera effects and features allow you to capture five frames for every picture, stitch your pictures together for immediate share to Facebook or Twitter, and add movie-like animation to your snapshots. The premier camera is located on the back of the Nokia Lumia 928, and offers an 8.7 megapixel lens, capturing video in 1,080P HD resolution. There is also a front facing chat cam, and the Nokia Lumia 928 measures just 0.40 inches (10.1 mm) in thickness.
Aside from the high-end camera, the device also delivers 3 high performance HAAC (high audio amplitude capture) microphones. This allows for distortion free sound capture up to 140 dB, which is equal to the level of sound created when an airplane lifts off. The Nokia Lumia 928 offers a 4.5 inch PureMotion HD+ display with 768 x 1,280 pixel resolution, delivered at 332 pixels per inch, with more than 16 million colors. A scratch resistant layer of glass offers protection against everyday wear and tear, and the handset provides a full 16.2 hours of talk time from a full battery charge.
That full charge also delivers an impressive 25.2 days of standby battery power, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 system chip runs the show. The Nokia Lumia 928 CPU is a dual core 1.5 GHz model, an Adreno 225 GPU handles the graphics processing, 1.0 GB of RAM is on board and the phone comes out-of-the-box with a full 32 GB of built-in data storage space. The Internet Explorer 10 mobile web browser is on board, as are Facebook and Twitter social networking applications.
