lumia928You have probably seen the television and Internet ads showing the Nokia Lumia 928 smartphone for Verizon, and it’s excellent low-light camera. Many analysts are actually calling this the best camera on any smartphone that Verizon offers, and it delivers the popular PureView technology from the Lumia 920, but in a smaller and slimmer package. The 928 also delivers a large display, extremely high pixel density, NFC wireless support and the latest Windows Phone 8 operating system.

But the feature which is being hyped the most is the PureView camera on the back of the handset which records video in 1,080P HD resolution. That rear snapper boasts an 8.7 megapixel sensor with backside illumination (BSI) and a high-end Carl Zeiss Tessar lens. Launched on May 16 of this year on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system in the US, the phone has already reached number three on Verizon’s bestseller list according to industry analyst Canaccord Genuity. Aside from the great camera and large high-resolution display, the Lumia 928 delivers double the average talk time from a single battery charge.

The f/2.0 aperture PureView camera system has drawn praise from both analysts and consumers, and that technology offers excellent image stabilization, even if you are videotaping as you are walking. To further enhance low light and night-time operation the rear camera on the Nokia Lumia 928 4G smartphone is equipped with a new Xenon flash, which replaces the dual LED flash from the 920, and provides a brighter illumination. Smart Shoot let’s you take multiple shots in succession and then choose the best one, Bing Vision offers QR code scanning capability and other features, and Cinemagraph delivers Steven Spielberg-like video creation and animation integration.

Overall, low-light and indoor performance is great, and the image stabilization feature works excellently. The phone also delivers special microphones which can capture up to 140dB sound without distortion. The large 4.5 inch display offers a pixel density of 332 pixels per inch with a resolution of 768 by 1,280 pixels, and delivers a full 16.2 hours of talk time from a full battery charge. Standby battery power lasts an incredible 25.2 days, and a speedy dual core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 plus central processor runs the show. The Nokia Lumia 928 also offers a generous 32 GB of onboard storage and 1.0 GB of RAM memory.
