Nokia has been looking to do whatever it can to gain some market share within the very busy smartphone world, but has sitting behind the iOS and Android devices on the market. Nokia is also looking to release its first Android powered device this year, as well as getting the Lumia Black update to more devices. The latest device to get the Lumia Black software is going to be the Lumia 925 according to reports. It has only been a couple of weeks since Verizon sent out the Lumia Black update for the Lumia 928 and now it is time for the T-Mobile Lumia 925.
The Lumia Black update brings the firmware version up to 3051.40000.1404.0011 and it will bring a couple of nice enhancements along with it. Most of the time it is a benefit to update the software on your phone any time that you can and this one is not any different. The change log includes things like new apps like Nokia Storyteller and the latest version of the Nokia Glance Screen. The full change log for the firmware update includes screen rotation lock, app switcher to make closing apps easier and custom ringtones for emails and messages.
The Lumia Black software will also update the Nokia Camera and that includes the Nokia Smart Camera and Nokia Pro Camera, both of which can be found in the Store application. The Nokia Storyteller app is included, along with the Nokia Beamer app that is the mobile projector that helps you to share content with others. The latest version of the Nokia Glance Screen bring notifications and other information right to your lock screen. Bluetooth 4.0 LE is also included to preserve energy while connected to a Bluetooth device.
The update will also bring other enhancements and stabilizations to Bluetooth connections, battery life and usability improvements. Those on the T-Mobile network with the Lumia 925 have been waiting long enough since the AT&T and International models were the first to get the Lumia Black software, but it is nice to see the update finally sent out. You can see if your phone is ready for the update by going through the Settings are and checking About Phone to see. If you are not able to download the software right away, just be patient, it is rolled out in phases to prevent issues.
