droidrazrmaxxhdMotorola Droid Razr Maxx HD News: This is the season when manufacturers start unveiling the newest devices in their respective stables. We’ve recently seen Sony unleash the Sony Xperia Z and HTC come out with the HTC One while other OEMs such as Samsung already have upcoming superphones in the pipeline. Motorola on the other hand seems quiet at the moment and the only sound coming from the OEM’s camp is rumors about the supposed Motorola X superphone – which we think is still a couple of months out.

The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $99.99.

Come to think of it, it’s been a while since Motorola released a high-end device and this dates back to last year when the manufacturer unveiled the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD. But because of the sudden lull in activity over at Motorola while other OEMs are full steam ahead with their release plans, Motorola runs the risk of being forgotten by the smartphone-buying population.

So what does it do to remain relevant? Motorola comes up with a new promotion to ensure that its aging devices become attractive again in the face of newer and more capable superphones from other manufacturers.

As it stands, Motorola currently has an offer that will give you a free $50 Google Play credit if you purchase a Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD. To some, this would already be a great incentive. After all, the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD is one handset that you don’t have to worry about charging at the end of each day for use on the morrow and the included $50 Google Play credit will definitely go a long way in buying premium apps and games from Google Play for that matter. You can apply for the credit on the Motorola website, and have your proof of purchase ready at hand.

But still, $50 Google Play credit or not, the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD is not getting any younger and it runs the risk of getting trampled by the new breed of superphones that got recently released. But if you happen to be content with a smartphone with last year’s technology and rationalize that longer battery life is more important than rocking the latest and greatest, then the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD is your best bet.

As for the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD, the handset reached official status when it was unveiled in September of 2012. The handset waited until November of the same year though before it finally landed on the shelves of Verizon. Under the hood, the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD’s circuitry is built around its QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset which comes with a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor and a full gigabyte of RAM. Storage space onboard the device is pegged at 16GB but this is not enough, a user can easily rely on the handset’s microSD card slot for memory expansion purposes. Display-wise, the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD comes with a 4.7-inch SuperAMOLED panel with a 1280 x 720 resolution while its dualshooter configuration includes a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.3MP video call and self-portrait snapper.

You can purchase the Droid Razr Maxx HD at a discounted price tag now starting at $99.99.

  1. Your links are to the Razr M for 0.01, not the Maxx HD.

  2. Thanks Alvin. Dang I hate when I make those kinds of typos

  3. You state the on board storage is 16GB when it is 32GB. Also, I am upgrading my Droid Charge to a Razr Maxx HD. Getting it tomorrow, and you don’t fill me with the warm fuzzies by implying it’s getting old when it wasn’t even available until THREE months ago. If your reply is “Well that’s technology” you’re right, but please have a little consideration for people who can’t buy a new phone every quarter. :-) Just sayin’.
