At the moment, the HTC One is perhaps one of the most powerful handsets in the market today. It is the flagship device in the Android lineup of the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer and this status pretty much assures users of the HTC One that they have a very capable device in their hands. After all, the components under the hood of the handset are very impressive in addition to the fact that the HTC One comes with a design aesthetic that is very attractive and gives the handset a solid yet elegant look to it.
The HTC One 4G is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $49.99.
Because of the said attributes, the HTC One is now sharing the spotlight with the Samsung Galaxy S IV, the flagship device of the Korean electronics giant. Though the popularity of the Samsung flagship is now shooting off the charts and the company confirmed that sales figures of the handset have already reached the 10 million mark in less than a full month since its release, HTC also has its own bragging to do.
As it stands, sales figures of the HTC One have already reached the 5 million milestone in just about a month of full availability. Apparently, sales of the HTC flagship could have been higher but component shortages have led to a slower sales performance of the HTC One. This much was confirmed by an HTC exec who requested that his name be withheld and we quote, “Orders are pretty good so far and are still more than what we can supply. This is partly due to the shortage of components. When the issue is resolved next month, we will have a better idea if it’s doing really well or not.”
Though the sales numbers of the HTC One is only half of what Samsung managed to achieve with the Samsung Galaxy S IV, this is still very impressive considering the fact that HTC is said to be going through rough and tough times at the moment. And with the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer confirming that it will increase the production of the HTC One in the coming months with plans of doubling its output of the handset, we wouldn’t be surprised if the HTC flagship will soon be at par with what the Samsung Galaxy S IV has managed to achieve.
This strong showing of the HTC One in terms of sales figures only goes to show how impressive the device is. Running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for its operating system and rumored to get cranked up to Android 4.2.2 in the next couple of weeks, the circuitry of the handset is built around a Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600 chipset. On the other hand, the handset relies on its quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 processor and 2GB of RAM to come up with the computing power it needs to keep its performance at peak levels. The HTC One is available in a 32GB and a 64GB edition in terms of storage while its camera department is just as impressive with its rear 4MP UltraPixel shooter and front 2.1MP video call and self-portrait snapper.
The HTC One 4G can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $49.99.
