Over the last month or more there have been plenty of rumors that Samsung was going to be adding to its Galaxy line of device and even though the Galaxy Gear and Galaxy Note 3 have arrived, there are reports that the company is not finished. A new device could give a new name to the tablet market and make the 10-inch tablets out there look a little smaller. A 12.2-inch tablet from Samsung has reportedly been in the works and could be released next year, complete with S-Pen stylus support. The new tablet is going to compete in a space that is really led by Apple with the 9.7-inch iPad.
According to FCC documentation, the Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 has passed through certification and testing and could be on the market very soon. Granted, even though the FCC has announced the tablet for testing, that does not mean that it will be on the market for sure, but most devices that pass through the FCC, end up on the market shortly afterwards. Bluetooth certifications are typically one other stop and the Galaxy Note 12.2 has already been there as well.
The tablet has been rumored more than once and could be in line to take the market by storm being released around the same time as the next generation smartphone from Samsung. The Galaxy S5 has already been participating in online rumor mills and speculation from many users hoping they will be able to sway the features that come on the new device. The Galaxy Note 12.2 could come with an amazing screen resolution of 2560×1600, along with other expected hardware like the Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat software to power it all.
For the most part, the new tablet would need to have those specs at a minimum in order to compete with anything that is on the market, especially the iPad Air that was just released by Apple. Most of the larger tablets have done well enough for Samsung to go through the trouble of developing another for the market. The Galaxy Tab 3 10.1-inch model is already out there. Apple is just released the iPad Air which measure just less than 10-inches, but is reportedly working on an iPad Max, which is expected by some to measure more than 13-inches.
