Sprint launched the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G on April 22 this year, and last month debuted their first ever 4G LTE network in the US. With the Galaxy Nexus 4G running a powerful dual core processor and recently receiving an upgrade to the Jelly Bean 4.1 OS, the handset is perfect for the speedy new 4G Sprint network. The Galaxy Nexus was the first ICS US smartphone late last year, and still delivers one of the largest and highest resolutions of any smartphone display. The handset is currently offered in the Amazon Wireless store for under $40 on contract.

The new 4G LTE network for Sprint offers simultaneous data and voice connectivity, allowing you to surf the web or check your email without interrupting a voice call. The Galaxy Nexus 4G was one of the slimmest phones when it arrived last year, and is still of the thinnest. The Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G measures a wafer thin 0.37 inches (9.47 mm), and offers up a large 4.65 inch Super AMOLED screen. High-end pixel density and resolution are delivered at 316 pixels per inch, with more than 16 million different colors represented on the 720 x 1,280 pixel resolution display.

The capacitive, multitouch screen takes into account the amount of ambient light present and then automatically adjusts for the best possible display, and the built-in proximity sensor dims the display whenever you lift the handset to make or receive a voice call, thereby conserving battery power. On the 4G LTE network for Sprint the Galaxy Nexus 4G delivers as much as 9.0 hours of talk time from a single charge, and standby time runs roughly 6.2 days.

Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk and Picasa integration is present out-of-the-box, as is NFC (Near Field Communications) support for wireless applications like Android Beam and Google Wallet. The Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G has 1.0 GB of RAM system memory and 32 GB of data storage built in, and the Texas Instruments OMAP 4460 microchip package that powers the handset is built around a dual core 1.2 GHz Cortex A9 CPU. A separate PowerVR SGX540 chip handles all graphics processing.

The Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G supports hands-free voice dialing, voice memo recording and other voice commands, and comes equipped with active noise cancellation and a dedicated mic. Built into the back of the handset is a 5.0 megapixel camcorder that records video at a rate of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (1,080p HD resolution) and 30 frames per second, offering a built-in LED flash, autofocus, geo-tagging, special effects package, panorama mode and white balance features. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G running on the Sprint 4G LTE system also delivers a front facing chat cam which can be used to place video calls and snap portrait snapshots.
