With many smartphone shoppers looking for holiday gifts for their loved ones and themselves, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G has arrived just in time for the holiday shopping season on the brand-new Sprint 4G LTE network. The smartphone which was the first to deliver the Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 Android operating system to a US handset now runs on the new Jelly Bean 4.1 OS. And the Amazon Wireless holiday sale has the Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G discounted to under $40 on contract during their annual seasonal sales event.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus for Sprint is available for a special reduced holiday price now starting at $39.99.

Delivering a large high resolution screen, a slim profile and extreme built-in data storage, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G is nearing its one year anniversary in the United States. Most phones after a year in existence have long since become outdated. That is not the case with the Galaxy Nexus 4G, and it now benefits from a smoother and faster user interface from Jelly Bean 4.1, as well as a speedy 4G LTE network offered by Sprint.

The handset offers a full 32 GB of built-in data storage, but also delivers an extremely slim profile. Thinner than most every 4G smartphone at 0.37 inches (9.47 mm), the handset will be running on more than 100 major Metropolitan markets in the United States by the end of this year. An improved Google Now with contextual search and virtual personal assistant, better camera operability and less clutter on the Android home screens are all components which offer improvements in the new Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system.

The Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G handset is powered by a dual core 1.2 GHz CPU, with 1.0 GB of RAM system memory on board. An oleophobic layer protects the display against scratches, and pixel density runs 316 pixels per inch. This gives the display a 720 x 1,280 pixel resolution which ranks as one of the most resolute screens in the entire smartphone marketplace. The handset uses more than 16 million different colors when rendering visuals, and standard proximity and light sensors are built into the display.

Texas Instruments has given the Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G an OMAP 4460 microchip package, and included is the above-mentioned CPU as well as a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processor running at 384 MHz. For social networking junkies, popular online destinations Picasa and YouTube have been pre-installed, and the Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G is NFC (Near Field Communications) enabled. Video capture runs 1,080P HD resolution with the rear facing 5.0 megapixel camcorder, and a front facing chat cam offers Skype and video call support.

You can purchase the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for Sprint for a discounted holiday price now starting at $39.99.
