Just recently, we reported that the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch is still reigning supreme in the smartphone spectrum of Sprint given the may components and capabilities that the variant of the Samsung flagship device brings to the fold. However, that may soon come to an abrupt end once the Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE finally hits the shelves of the wireless provider.
This was confirmed as early as last month when an ad indicating the Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE as Sprint’s flagship LTE device surfaced but was quickly pulled. Just recently however, a 4G LTE landing page appeared on the website of the carrier with the carrier’s version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE proudly and prominently displayed for the entire world to see. In addition to that, the Sprint version of the current Google flagship device will include support for Google Wallet, a service not found on the variant being offered by Verizon.
Since then, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE has already reached official status when Sprint made the announcement. Furthermore, a registration page was set up on the website of the carrier for people who want to receive more information about Sprint’s version of the device. Sad to say, a release date for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE hasn’t been nailed as of yet but since the 4G LTE network of Sprint is expected to get lighted up during the first half of 2012, we could certainly expect the handset to hit the shelves of the carrier in the coming months.
And if you want to know more as to what the Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE will bring to the table in terms of components and capabilities, we have the specs sheet of the handset coming right up to get you up close and personal with the carrier’s upcoming LTE flagship device.
As mentioned earlier, the Sprint version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE was announced back in January and we have yet to hear as to when the device will finally make its debut in the shelves of the wireless provider. In terms of its design and construction, the handset has a frame with a curved design that is meant to hug your cheeks when you are talking on the phone. The chassis of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE has measurements of 135.5 x 67.9 x 8.9 mm and it weighs in at 135 grams. Internally, a Texas Instruments OMAP4460 chipset powers the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system of the handset with a dual-core 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor and 1GB of RAM paired together to deliver computing power to the device. The handset is expected to come with 32GBB of onboard storage while its 4.65-inch Contour Display of the SuperAMOLED variant comes with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The shooting department of the device is not as stellar as we would want it to be with only a 5MP shooter at its back panel and 1.3MP webcam out front.
Despite the shortcomings of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE for Sprint, we still expect the device to claim the best Android smartphone of Sprint once it finally gets released to the market.

Ah, nice but a Pen-Tile display which sucks not to mention a OMAP 4 not a 5. Oh well, still waiting for an HTC One XL. Better phone, Soc w/LTE and re -scaling of text when you pinch and zoom. June, my friends, June.
