A late January release could deliver the 4.4.2 version of the software to the Galaxy Note 3, a handset which recently received a boost up to Android 4.3. Better closed captioning support and stronger security will be on board the 4.4.2 update, as well as more efficient battery usage and more tools and capabilities for app developers.
