The Galaxy Note 3 smartphone recently received some good news on several fronts. First off, the prediction by several Android followers online that the handset would receive the KitKat 4.4 operating system update in January looks like it could come to pass, and secondly, the phone has been reduced in retail price at several online retailers such as the Amazon Wireless store. French wireless carrier SFR has leaked information showing the KitKat 4.4 operating system boost hitting their Galaxy Note 3 customers in late January.
This falls in line with previous estimates of Q1 for the update on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and the new lower retail price makes the big-screen smartphone/tablet even more attractive. You may recall that the Galaxy Note 3 is the first mobile device ever created to deliver a full 3.0 GB of RAM memory. Since the Android operating system version KitKat 4.4.2 requires only 512 MB of RAM memory to run, the already blazing fast Galaxy Note 3 will receive a slight boost in speed.
The handset combines a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU and powerful Adreno 330 graphics processor with 32 GB of onboard storage and a microSD slot to back up the powerful RAM memory which guarantees multitasking through applications like Multi-Window. This popular Galaxy Note 3 feature allows you to create two individual and independent displays on the large 5.70 inch Full HD screen the handset offers. You can operate in each miniature window independently, or drag and drop data and information back and forth.
The Galaxy Note 3 handset also returns the popular S Pen smart stylus which was debuted on the original Galaxy Note phone two generations ago, with many more applications supporting S Pen interaction. The Note 3 provides infrared wireless control of consumer electronics like your HDTV or home theater system, and also offers NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and DLNA wireless connectivity options as well.
The Voice Control feature allows you to simply say, “Hi, Galaxy,” to wake up your handset and send messages, make telephone calls and perform other operations without ever touching your Galaxy Note 3. For such a hardware packed device the handset remains slim, measuring just 0.33 inches (8.3 mm) in thickness. The large 5.70 inch display offers a resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels, delivered at an extremely high pixel density of 386 pixels per inch. 16 million colors are present on that display, which is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 3. The Galaxy Note 3 also delivers up to 25.0 hours of run time after a full battery charge, more than twice the industry average.
