galaxynote3Now that the Galaxy Note 3 has been officially announced by Samsung it is about time to get to what rumors are turned into reality while others just fall onto the wish list for the next generation device.  One of those rumors was actually the fact that Samsung was going to develop two different models of the popular phablet and neither of them was going to be a 16GB model.  According to reports from this week, that rumor has turned out to be true as the company revealed the 32GB and the 64GB models at the press event held this week.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II is available for a reduced sale price now starting at .

For the original and the second generation models, Samsung had the 16GB option and both of them were equipped with microSD card slots so that users could expand the memory to some degree.  Having more internal memory has become a hot topic in the mobile world as more people are using them for music, movies, apps and now even some smartphones can record in 4k resolution, taking up even more space.  Samsung did not comment as to why it was not going to launch a 16GB model, but some speculate that it might have had something to do with the 16GB Galaxy S4.

You might think that 16GB of internal memory would be plenty, but the more extensive that smartphone software gets, the more room it takes up and if the company has its own user interface, it will be taking up that much more space.  The Samsung Galaxy S4 with 16GB of storage was criticized for the amount of space that the system software took up and that could be part of the reason Samsung just went ahead with larger internal memory on the Galaxy Note 3.

The Galaxy Note 3 is going to have a bunch of custom software, pre-loaded app for the S Pen and some multi-tasking features, so it will surely use up a good amount of the initial memory for that.  Going right to the 32GB and the 64GB options was most likely the best option for the company.  No matter what model that you get, you will be able to expand that memory with the microSD card slot, so effectively you could have up to 128GB of internal memory, which should be plenty for regular mobile users on the market today.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at .
