All the attention the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4G Android smartphone for AT&T is receiving centers around the smart stylus that Samsung has named the S Pen. But to be fair to the well-rounded device, the handset owns one of the speediest processors, one of the best screen resolutions, one of the highest pixel densities, and the highest video recording resolution of any offering in the entire 4G smartphone marketplace. And of course the Galaxy Note offers that massive 5.3 inch display, easily the largest in the 4G smartphone arena. Screen resolution runs to the high end of the 4G smartphone spectrum, at 800 x 1200 pixels and 285 pixels per inch. But the focus has duly been upon the integrated S Pen technology and the native applications and features it provides the Samsung Galaxy Note owner.

For instance, the more pressure you apply to the screen when using the S Pen, the wider a line it draws, just like writing with a ballpoint pen. And it is very easy to capture your ideas in your own handwriting rather than fumbling with a virtual keyboard which constantly has you hitting the wrong key due to its miniaturized size. The S Pen even allows you to copy and paste images, write notes and messages on pictures and videos, doodle, draw and create original artwork. The unique smart stylus even allows you to write texts and e-mails in your free-form handwriting.
And Samsung just announced this week that they will be updating the Galaxy Note handset in the near future (no dates announced) to add even more proprietary applications and abilities centered around the S Pen. One of the main features the upcoming over the air upgrade will deliver is called S Note. That application allows Samsung Galaxy Note owners to add their sketches and notes to other digital content. And for those handset shoppers who wonder if the Galaxy Note will be business-friendly, the new upgrade will also deliver business templates for such standard needs as recording the minutes of the meeting and daily diary entries. Another upcoming pen-enabled feature is named My Story. This application will allow you to combine your notes, still photos, videos, text and voice content for creating cards for your friends and family.
The Samsung Galaxy Note is exclusive to the AT&T 4G LTE wireless system, and currently retails for $249 at select AT&T authorized retailers with a standard two-year activation and data plan. Available in Ceramic White or Carbon Blue, the Android handset delivers the Gingerbread operating system out-of-the-box, and comes equipped with a 1.5 GHz dual core processor, 1.0 GB of RAM memory, 16 GB of built-in user accessible storage, and dual cameras. The rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder provides video capture at 1080P HD resolution. Buy the Samsung Galaxy Note starting at $249, which is a $50 savings over the AT&T price tag.
