The Galaxy Note II 4G Android smartphone/tablet has a display large enough to be considered the equivalent of a small tablet PC, while also delivering 4G speeds. T-Mobile debuted the device on October 24, ahead of competitors AT&T, Verizon and Sprint in the United States. Their HSPA+ wireless network is claiming speeds of up to an incredible 42 MB per second (Mbps), and that is due to the quad core central processor that the Galaxy Note II delivers. The handset also offers the much-anticipated Jelly Bean 4.1 Android operating system out-of-the-box, as well as a large high-resolution screen and Samsung S Pen smart stylus with native handwriting recognition.

The Galaxy Note II for T-Mobile is available at select online retailers for a reduced introductory price now starting at 299.99.

That Jelly Bean 4.1 OS meshes with the Samsung TouchWiz UI, and accepts standard capacitive, multitouch gestures for device navigation. Although it delivers the largest screen for a 4G smartphone, the Galaxy Note II is exceptionally slim at 0.37 inches (9.0 mm). That display mentioned above runs 5.55 inches and is protected against scratching and chipping by a second generation layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. Pixel density runs to the high-end of the smartphone marketplace at 265 pixels per inch, bestowing the display with an overall screen resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels, also at the high end of the mobile handset arena.

The Super AMOLED screen also contains a proximity sensor which dims the display when the handset is lifted to your face to make or receive a voice call, and that allows the 3,100 mA battery on board to deliver up to 15.00 hours talk time from a single battery charge. Standby time runs approximately 12.0 days, and the Samsung Galaxy Note II 4G delivers one of the first quad core processors to a US wireless carrier, a 1.6 GHz ARM Cortex A9 CPU. An ARM Mali-400 MP4 (Quad-Core) graphics processor is also present and is part of the overall Samsung Exynos 4412 microchip package on board the handset.

16 GB of data storage space are built into the Galaxy Note II, and a full 2.0 GB of RAM system memory are on board. A microSD slot has been supplied for memory expansion, accepting cards up to 64 GB in size. 1,080P HD resolution video recording is provided by the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder, and a front facing 1.9 megapixel chat cam is also present. The handset delivers a Stereo FM radio with RDS display features, and the built-in music player can filter by album, artist or play lists, supporting all major audio file formats. Near Field Communications (NFC) wireless support is present out-of-the-box, as are Facebook, YouTube, Picasa and Twitter applications.

You can buy the Samsung Galaxy Note II for T-Mobile at a special reduced price now starting at 299.99.
