We have known for some time that the Galaxy Note 3 big screen phablet would arrive in the third quarter this year. Up until now there has been no firm release date or launch schedule, but it appears Samsung is prepared to begin the rollout of the third generation Note smartphone/tablet. AndroidGeeks has reported on their technology blog that the Korean smartphone manufacturer is scheduled to put on an Unpacked event for the new Galaxy Note 3 this September 4.
The Samsung Galaxy Note II is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $79.99.
That would deliver the announcement just before IFA 2013 in Berlin, where the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone will probably be the center of attention. This has been confirmed by multiple sources, and has led select smartphone retailers to drop the on contract price tag of the Galaxy Note II smartphone. The Verizon Galaxy Note II was recently spotted at the Amazon Wireless store online with a substantially reduced sub $80 price tag on contract. The phone delivers one of the largest high resolution displays of any mobile handset, and is powered by a speedy quad core processor.
A popular characteristic of the phone has been the split screen Multi-Window feature, which allows the Galaxy Note II user to divide the large screen into two active windows. Coupled with ample RAM memory and powerful processing ability, you can then use your individual windows separately, or integrate and multitask between the two. The Galaxy Note II returns the popular smart stylus S Pen, and you can interact with the handset by using the stylus, by speaking, hovering just above the screen, drawing or writing.
The first smartphone from Samsung to deliver the Jelly Bean 4.1 Android operating system, the Galaxy Note II device is slim at just 0.37 inches (9.3 mm) in thickness. The large display mentioned above runs 5.55 inches, and is protected against everyday abuse by a layer of second generation Corning Gorilla Glass. That big screen has been aligned in a 16 to 9 aspect ratio, which is usually regarded as the standard for True HD video and movie viewing. Resolution runs 720 x 1,280 pixels on the Super AMOLED display.
Standard light and proximity sensors are on board, capacitive, multitouch gestures are supported, and the extended life 3,100 mA battery on board the handset can deliver up to 15.0 hours of talk time after a full charge. The Galaxy Note II has an 8.0 megapixel sensor on its main camera, which is capable of simultaneous HD image and video capture, recording video at 1,080P HD resolution. The quad core CPU has been clocked at 1.6 GHz, and joins 2.0 GB of RAM memory, 16 GB of built-in data storage space and a microSD slot in the handset’s hardware package.
The Samsung Galaxy Note II can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $79.99.
