The big-screen phablet that was supposed to be too large for acceptance by the typical mobile market consumer continues to sell very well, showing global support in its second generation. The Galaxy Note II tablet/smartphone retails from between $49 and $149 on contract from the big three at select online retailers like Amazon, and delivers a versatile Multi-Window feature to the largest display a 4G smartphone has seen so far.
The Samsung Galaxy Note II is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $79.99.
The split window application allows you to divide your screen into two equal parts. You can then move about each individual half-screen separately, or integrate the two. This allows for multiple multitasking and productivity options, and the powerful quad core processor produces zero lag when changing orientation in this mode. The handset also extends the number of ways you can interact with your smartphone, allowing you to touch, hover, write and speak to operate the Note II.
The Galaxy Note II 4G Android smartphone is the first offering from Samsung to deliver the Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system out-of-the-box, and is Samsung Approved for Enterprise (SAFE), supporting Mobile Device Management (MDM), on-device encryption (ODE), and Virtual Private Networks (VPN). The smart stylus S Pen has been revamped and is thicker and longer, making for a more natural and pen-like feel. The hover feature uses contextual awareness to recognize your fingertips or stylus tip before it touches the screen, giving you previews and website blowups before you click.
This contextual awareness also provides audible and visual alarms should the stylus stray too far from the Galaxy Note II smartphone. The big screen tablet/smartphone measures only 0.37 inches (9.3 mm) in thickness, and offers a large 5.55 inch display. That screen is protected against normal wear and tear, scratching and chipping with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2, and the huge display has been designed in a 16 to 9 aspect ratio. Resolution runs 720 x 1,280 pixels, with more than 16 million colors found on the screen.
At nearly double the 4G smartphone average of 8.0 hours, the handset offers a full 15.0 hours of talk time from a single battery charge. The CPU is an Exynos quad core chip clocked at 1.6 GHz, and joins a quad core ARM Mali 400 MP4 GPU in the hardware package. 16 GB of internal closet space is present, with a microSD slot providing expansion possibilities. Video capture runs 1,080P HD resolution with the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder, a chat cam rides up front, and a Stereo FM radio with RDS display capabilities joins a YouTube video player in the Galaxy Note II multimedia suite.
You can purchase the Galaxy Note II at a discounted price tag now starting at $79.99.
