The Samsung Galaxy Note II is still one of the more powerful handsets currently available in the smartphone market today – this despite the fact that several other OEMs have already released their newest, top of the line handsets. The second generation not only boasts of a massive 5.5-inch screen real estate but it also comes with impressive components under the hood that are comparable to what can be seen in other top-tier devices today.
However, the maxim that no smartphone is perfect also remains and this is also true in the case of the Samsung Galaxy Note II. Regardless of the fire-breathing components the phablet has under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy Note II is still susceptible to some bugs and issues that to a certain extent hamper its performance. In fact, there are reports that a copy-paste clipboard bug is still plaguing the second generation Samsung phablet.
For those not in the know, this copy-paste clipboard bug triggers a crash and reboot on the Samsung Galaxy Note II after 20 or so items are already saved in the handset’s clipboard. In short, when you start copying stuff onto the clipboard of the Samsung Galaxy Note II, the handset will sooner or later crash. What’s worse is that there is speculation that Samsung has been aware of this bug on the handset as early as October as last year but a resolution to this issue is yet to be seen.
Come to think of it, this copy-paste clipboard bug on the handset should have been fixed by now by a software update. Not that Samsung can easily release a software patch to get this taken care of given the fact that updates must be approved by carriers first but given the fact that the Exynos security flaw discovered a couple of months back was easily fixed by the Korean electronics giant, a bug such as this copy-paste clipboard issue should have been fixed by Samsung by now.
So, what keeps Samsung from getting this bug on the Samsung Galaxy Note II eradicated? At this point, we are not sure but we are hoping that the manufacturer get to have this taken care of ASAP as this will be detrimental to the performance of the Samsung Galaxy Note II.
Regardless of that, the Samsung Galaxy Note II is still as powerful as it can get and a look at the specs sheet of the handset proves this. Under the hood, the operation of the Samsung Galaxy Note II is powered by its Exynos 4412 Quad chipset which brings into play a quad-core 1.6 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor and 2GB of RAM. In terms of storage space, the handset was released in a 16GB and a 32GB version but this can still be expanded easily using the microSD card slot of the device. As for its display, the Samsung Galaxy Note II sports a gargantuan 5.5-inch SuperAMOLED HD panel with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels while its camera department boasts of a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.9MP snapper.
