Back in the day, most Android-powered devices usually made their debut in the shelves in just one colorway – black. This is why most of the handsets you see lining up the shelves almost look like one another because of this black paint job. More recently however, we have seen a spate of handset releases that doesn’t even have black anywhere near them. Take the case of the Samsung Galaxy Note II for example – the handset was unveiled back in August available in only two colors: Marble White and Titanium Gray.
However, word on the street is that the Korean smartphone and tablet manufacturer is getting ready to release its second generation phablet in more colorful paint jobs. This is the same information we get from a highly reliable source which whispered in our ears that Samsung plans to introduce three new colors for the Samsung Galaxy Note II by next year.
According to our source, the Samsung Galaxy Note II will be released in new paint jobs early next year such as Amber Brown, Ruby Wine and Topaz Blue. Though rumored to become available in both red and blue, the difference in the color names suggest that these versions of the second generation Samsung phablet will be a whole lot different from the Garnet Red and Pebble Blue versions of the Samsung Galaxy S III.
This is the part where we caution everybody to take this information with a grain of salt. However, these rumors still sound entirely plausible – the Samsung Galaxy S III after all made its debut in the shelves in only a Marbler White and Pebble Blue version but additional colorways were later added on to the Galaxy S III portfolio so the speculation that Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II 4G could get new colorways by next year is now entirely off the mark.
Our source also informed us that the Korean electronics giant intend to unveil and showcase the new colorways of the Samsung Galaxy Note II at Mobile World Congress by 2012 but if you take into consideration the “early next year” rumored release, there is also the off chance that these new versions of the Samsung Galaxy Note II could very well be unveiled at CES come January.
As for the Samsung Galaxy Note II, the handset reached official status when it was announced back in August and the phablet immediately hit the shelves in September. The handset already runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for its operating system and this is powered by an Exynos 4412 Quad chipset which comes with a quad-core 1.6 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor and a staggering 2GB of RAM. The handset is available in a 16GB, 32GB and a 64GB version in terms of storage space with the option to have this expanded using the microSD card slot of the handset while its display remains its stand out feature with its 5.5-inch SuperAMOLED HD panel with a 1280 x 720 resolution. Its camera department on the other hand features a rear 8MP shooter and a 1.9MP snapper.
You can purchase the Samsung Galaxy Note II for Sprint now starting at 279.99.
