The Samsung Galaxy Note is noteworthy in both form and function. The note-taking, doodling, drawing and write-to-text features integrated into the 5.3 inch capacitive display and accompanying S Pen stylus deliver a very tablet-like experience to this 4G smartphone. And the large, high resolution screen makes web surfing, watching videos and movies much more enjoyable than some of the smaller displays offered in the 4G smartphone marketplace. But Samsung named this device the Note for a reason.

Buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 4G starting at $249.

Offered in Carbon Blue or Ceramic White for $249 at select AT&T authorized retailers, and exclusive to the AT&T 4G LTE wireless network, the Samsung Galaxy Note blurs the line between smartphone and Tablet PC. The S Pen stylus delivers a pressure sensitive interaction with the 5.3 inch WXGA Super AMOLED screen, and 16 million colors are used for rendering visuals. Basically, the more pressure placed on the screen, the wider the width of the line or text that you are creating. And whether you are jotting down an e-mail, adding captions to photos or using the Galaxy Note to create custom artwork, that display is represented at 285 pixels per inch for an overall screen resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels, one of the highest in the entire 4G smartphone marketplace.

Offering the S Pen as an input device instead of having to use the virtual onboard keyboard means less mistakes and quicker creation of e-mails and text messages. Understanding free-form handwriting, and allowing for copy-and-paste image and text options, you can also write messages directly on video and pictures before sharing with your friends and family.

And powering the Galaxy Note’s notable stylus features is one of the quickest processors in the entire smartphone marketplace. The Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon power pack includes a dual core Scorpion processor which has been clocked at 1.5 GHz, and an Adreno 220 chip for handling graphics duties. 16 GB of onboard storage are built-in, and 1.0 GB of RAM memory is also present.

Providing video and still shots for interaction with the S Pen stylus, the Galaxy Note delivers an 8.0 megapixel camcorder (rear) and 2.0 megapixel chat cam (front). That rear camcorder provides video capture at 1080P HD resolution, and the chat cam can be used for video calls. Facebook, Picasa, Twitter and YouTube social media applications have been preinstalled, and also support S Pen interaction. For those smartphone shoppers more familiar with typical multitouch gesture input, the capacitive display of the Galaxy Note also supports standard input from your thumb and fingers.  Buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 4G starting at $249, which is a $50 savings over AT&T’s price tag.
