We first heard about the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G in a couple of leaks in the past that intimated that it will make its way to T-Mobile. This has been confirmed when Korean smartphone and tablet manufacturer Samsung together with the Magenta carrier took the center stage at CES 2012 and made the handset official through an announcement. Sad to say, there was no mention about the handset’s availability and pricing scheme but thankfully, T-Mobile has decided to fill in some of the blanks here.
In a press release, the Magenta carrier has made it known that the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G will hit the shelves of T-Mobile sometime in March but no exact date was given as of yet. As for its pricing scheme, the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G is expected to come with a price tag of $149.99 attached to it, this after sending in a mail-in rebate of $50. In addition to that, the handset is expected to ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread for its operating system but T-Mobile has already dropped the word that the device will also get upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich though no ETA was provided by the carrier.
If you happen to have T-Mobile for your wireless provider of choice and are really interested in getting your hands on the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G, we have the full details of the handset’s specs sheet coming right up to give you an idea as to what the components and capabilities of the device are.
As mentioned earlier, the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G reached official status last month when it was announced at CES 2012 and the device is expected to hit the shelves of the Magenta carrier this coming March. No official measurements and catch weight of the device have been released so far but we see the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G based on its press mug shots as a device that comes with a sexy and sleek profile.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G comes with impressive components that are at par with what other high-end devices from the competition pack. The Gingerbread operating system of the handset draws power from its QualComm MSM8260 SnapDragon chipset which brings dual-core capabilities to the device via a Scorpion processor that runs at a clock speed of 1.5 GHz. This in turn is paired with a full gigabyte of RAM and the device will be released in a 16GB and 32GB model. Furthermore, the internal memory of the handset can also be expanded using its dedicated microSD card slot that can support media cards of up to 32GB. In terms of its display, the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G comes with a 3.97-inch SuperAMOLED capacitive touchscreen panel with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels while its camera department has a dual-shooter configuration with a 5MP shooter at its back panel that is also capable of 720p video capture in addition to a front-facing camera with a1.3MP sensor resolution.
The Magenta carrier already has a powerful Android lineup but the addition of the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G which is expected to become available in March definitely strengthens the Android lineup of T-Mobile even more.
