The Galaxy S II in all its many iterations is an incredibly successful handset for Samsung, and the Sprint version, the Epic Touch 4G, was actually lauded as the best new 4G mobile device of 2011 at the 4G World Conference and Expo. And even though they had a big hit on their hands with the original black Epic Touch 4G, Sprint and Samsung were trying to provide for a white Christmas by releasing a white version before the end of 2011. While they just missed their deadline, the new Epic Touch 4G Android smartphone now allows you a white choice to ring in the new year.
As far as specs go, the new White Epic Touch 4G contains the same award-winning technical profile as its black predecessor, and is identical in dimensions. Delivering Android’s 2.3.4 Gingerbread operating system out-of-the-box, the White Epic Touch 4G measures 5.11 x 2.74 x 0.38 inches (130 x 70 x 10 mm) and weighs 4.60 ounces (130 g). Those are both average number sets for a 4G smartphone, but the display is not. The 4.52 inch Super AMOLED Plus screen on board the white Epic Touch 4G is one of the largest in the entire smartphone marketplace.

With a pixel density of 206 pixels per inch, 480 x 800 pixel resolution is delivered to the capacitive multitouch screen that displays in 16 million colors. The on board light sensor adjusts the brightness automatically, and built-in proximity sensor shuts the handset off when not in use to preserve battery life. With talk time of 8.70 hours, the 1800 mAh battery provides better than average performance.
On the hardware side, an Exynos microchip set comprised of a dual core 1.2 GHz central processor and Mali 400MP graphics processor are on board. Also on board is 1.0 GB of RAM system memory and 16 GB of built-in storage. MicroSD and microUSB slots are on board, wireless connectivity is offered through both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi access, and video out is achieved through DLNA technology.
The familiar Galaxy S II camera set is present, and is comprised of a rear 8.0 megapixel camcorder and front 2.0 megapixel chat cam. That rear snapper provides video capture at 1080P HD resolution, and delivers autofocus, smile detection, panorama features and special preloaded scenes, and is equipped with a video light and LED flash. The front facing chat cam can also place and receive video calls, and has the capability of recording video in 720P HD resolution.
