Smartphones of today regardless of operating system running underneath the hood usually come in a boring black paint job. This commonness usually makes these handsets virtual twins of each other because of the eerie resemblance among them. Well, some OEMs also released handsets in a myriad of colorways but most of the handsets we see lining up the shelves in the market today are done in a black colorway.
The original Galaxy S III is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $0.01.
Samsung however has a different strategy in giving its handsets some “identity”. The Korean smartphone and tablet manufacturer likes to give its smartphones the La Fleur design treatment that turns usually boring devices into flower-themed smartphones. The La Fleur treatment, which involves pink flowers adorning the back panel of handsets, is usually given to lower-end Samsung smartphones but the Korean electronics giant is now changing its strategy.
As it stands, Samsung is now giving its top-tier devices the La Fleur treatment and even the Samsung Galaxy S III, the current flagship device, will also get the La Fleur version complete with pink flowers and the whole package. The Samsung Galaxy La Fleur line will initially be released in Russia (where it is very popular) this 2013 and this will also be the first year that the design treatment will not be given to the manufacturer’s feature phones. Included in the line of the Galaxy devices getting this design overhaul aside from the Samsung Galaxy S III are the Galaxy S III Mini, Galaxy Ace II and the dual-SIM Galaxy Ace Duos.
As for the Samsung Galaxy S III, the handset is still one of the best handsets you can get your hands on in the smartphone market today. The current flagship device of the Korean electronics giant boasts of fire-breathing components under the hood housed by a chassis that a lot of our smartphone-crazed brethren deem as very classy. Because of its impressive resume, the Samsung Galaxy S III in turn is able to bring a set of impressive capabilities to the table and the most recent update that landed on the handset has brought features from the Samsung Galaxy Note II such as the Multi-Window feature to the Samsung Galaxy S III. Not only that, its popularity is still sky-high with its sales numbers recently hitting the 40 million mark since getting launched back in May of last year.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S III is already running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for its operating system and this draws power from the device’s QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset. This SoC gives the smartphone a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor and a whopping 2GB of RAM. The handset was released in a 16GB and a 32GB version in terms of its storage capacity but the handset also comes with a dedicated microSD card slot in its chassis for memory expansion purposes. As for its display, the Samsung Galaxy S III sports a 4.8-inch SuperAMOLED HD panel with a 1280 x 720 resolution while its dual-shooter configuration boasts of a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.9MP snapper.
You can purchase the original Galaxy S III design at a discounted price tag now starting at $0.01.
