According to smartphone manufacturer Samsung and reported by online consumer electronics watchdog ZDNet, the Galaxy S III 4G Android smartphone will reportedly receive an update to the Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system next month. If this October announcement holds true, that will mean the GS III, which has sold 20 million units in its first 100 days of availability, would have Jelly Bean 4.1 running the show only four or five months after the handset originally went on sale. ZDNet stated that their news came from their sister site across the pond, CNET UK, who was quoting a “categorical statement from Samsung.”
