Recently reaching its one year anniversary in the United States, the device still manages to be a bestseller in the mobile handset marketplace. The device delivered the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out-of-the-box when it launched last June, but has long since been upgraded to the Jelly Bean OS.

Currently retailing for one penny on contract in the 16 GB version, the device is the third in a Galaxy S lineup which has been incredibly successful for Samsung. Samsung was uncertain if the Galaxy S III would follow in the successful footsteps of the award-winning and bestselling Galaxy S II, but that is exactly what it has done.
