We’ve all heard about the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G for quite some time now and it has been all over rumor land for as far as I can remember. In fact, we used to know it by its former moniker as the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze Q from way back when. At that time, rumors were already heating up that it is headed to T-Mobile but the Magenta carrier remained coy about the speculations all throughout. We even heard about leaks and rumors that the device got a name change and this information came from training materials used by T-Mobile employees.
After much delay, T-Mobile finally took the stage and officially announced the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G last week. Sad to say, there was no mention of a specific launch date at that time. The carrier also did not release any pricing information about how much dent the handset will leave on your budget should you opt to go home with one of these babies.
T-Mobile has finally put us out of our agony and has come out with the pertinent details about the pricing and availability of the handset. As it turned out, the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G will hit the shelves of the Magenta carrier on September 19 and the handset will come with a $149.99 price tag after a mail-in rebate to it. Of course, it is a given that those looking to make the handset their next mobile weapon of choice will be required to sign a new two-year service agreement with T-Mobile if they want to take advantage of the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G at its carrier-subsidized pricing.
The Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G is from the midrange category but its relatively affordable price tag, slide-out QWERTY keyboard and the new unlimited plans of the Magenta carrier might be enough to sway a lot of people to take a more discerning second look at the handset.
Until now, the official dimensions and catch weight of the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G are still now available but owing to the fact that it comes with a slide-out physical QWERTY keyboard, the handset can be expected to be bulky and hefty for that matter – a price you have to pay if you prefer to do your messaging chores on a physical keyboard and not on a full touchscreen device.
The handset will come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its operating system out of the box and this will draw power from the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G’s QualComm MSM8260 SnapDragon chipset. This SoC brings to the device a dual-core 1.5 GHz Scorpion processor and a full gigabyte of RAM. Storage space on the handset is a bit on the meager side with only 4GB onboard but a memory expansion slot ought to take care of the measly storage capacity of the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G. The handset comes with a 4.0-inch SuperAMOLED display with a 480 x 800 resolution while its camera department features a rear 5MP shooter and a front 1.3MP snapper.

Actually, the latest updates indicate it’ll have a Snapdragon MSM8260A (S4) chipset with dual 1.5GHz Krait processor. It should have 8GB onboard storage also.
