The Samsung Galaxy S4 is available on all major mobile carriers in the United States, as well as a bunch of pre-paid networks throughout the country.  That means this being the third carrier to get the update sent out to users will not be the last in the long line.  Samsung noted that all versions of the Galaxy S4 will be getting updated, but mobile carriers have not been saying much as to when users can expect to see it on their devices.  Most of the time, the most important information is sent out right before the update actually happens.

Some consumers get anxious waiting for it, while others can wait around for a few weeks while everything gets worked out.  Leaked versions of the software become available online through the months leading up to the official release, but unless you know how to manually install software on your phone, those versions are not recommended.  AT&T users will start to see the update notification starting tomorrow and they should connect via Wi-Fi networks before starting the download and installation process.  The files have varied in size with some reporting one up to 842MB in size.

AT&T noted that it will arrive with other enhancements as well and as always, could come with a few new bugs.  That is typically why the updates are sent out in phases.  When a mobile carriers takes a couple of weeks to get an update rolled out, it is because they would like to make sure each download goes perfectly and does not cause any issues once installed.  The more users that download and install the update, the better chance there will be something wrong and AT&T can address that right away.
