The Samsung Galaxy S line began way back in 2010 with the popular Galaxy S smartphone. With the Galaxy S4 recently passing the 15 million units sold mark, the total number of Galaxy S smartphone sales has now passed 120 million units globally. The Samsung Galaxy S II Android smartphone has sold more than 40 million units, and the popular Galaxy S III smartphone sold 10 million units its first 50 days of availability, and is closing in on the 50 million unit mark.
The Galaxy S4 broke the Samsung sales record set by the S III, moving an incredible 10 million units in less than its first month availability. The success of the Galaxy S line continues to grow with each successive release, and in related news, the Galaxy S4 just received five new color options. The handset was originally offered in just two colors, White Mist or Black Frost. But at the recent Premiere 2013 event Samsung held in London, the Korean consumer electronics manufacturer unveiled the five new color options which the Galaxy S4 will eventually offer.
Blue Arctic, Purple Mirage, Red Aurora, Brown Autumn and Pink Twilight are your new color choices for the Galaxy S4 smartphone, although Samsung did not release a date or roll-out schedule for those new colors. With NFC support, a large high-resolution display, one of the highest pixel densities found on any smartphone and a powerful quad core processor, the Galaxy S4 is an excellent multitasking, multimedia device. Samsung has also included business minded features to please the pickiest IT manager, with security for both business and personal applications on board.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 has been spotted in many television and Internet ads as being controlled simply by moving your eyes across the screen, or with a simple wave of your hand. Eyeball tracking technology and contextual awareness drive those features, which includes Samsung Smart Pause. This actually pauses any video you are watching when your vision moves away from the screen, resuming it when you look back at the display.
The Samsung Smart Scroll feature actually allows you to scroll up and down the handset’s web browser simply by inclining your wrist and looking at either the top or bottom of the screen. Air View lets you preview content in e-mail, images or video without opening it simply by hovering your fingers above the display, and the popular Air Gesture allows you to change a music track, scroll up and down web pages, or accept a call with a wave of your hand. The Galaxy S4 offers a large 5.0 inch Full HD display with 1,080 x 1,920 pixel resolution, a 1.9 GHz quad core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2.0 GB of RAM memory and is available in 16 GB and 32 GB models.
