A snapshot of an official Samsung interoffice memo shows the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone as scheduled for a January release. The company information was not more specific than that, and refers to the Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900 model. The handset already comes with Android’s 4.3 final version of the Jelly Bean operating system out-of-the-box, the phone/tablet delivers one of the largest mobile handset displays, and several firsts for a Galaxy Note device.
You can purchase the Samsung Galaxy Note III at a reduced price tag stating at $199.
This is the first Galaxy Note model to offer a 5.7 inch screen, Full HD display, a 13 megapixel camera and a textured back which leads to fewer drops. It is also the first mobile handset ever designed with a generous 3.0 GB of RAM system memory. Available since October of this year, the third generation Galaxy Note achieves the largest screen of any Samsung Note iteration so far, and at the same time cuts down on its overall dimensions.
By providing a smaller surrounding bezel, Samsung designers allow the 5.7 inch 1,080P touchscreen to be the main focus on the front of the handset, while bringing overall dimensions down from the Galaxy Note II, for measurements of 5.95 x 3.12 x 0.33 inches (151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3 mm). That large, high-resolution screen also offers one of the highest pixel densities of any smartphone, at 386 pixels per inch. The battery has been improved slightly, to a capacity of 3,200 mA.
Thanks to that oversized cell, and special light and proximity sensors which help conserve battery life, the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone achieves more than double the industry average for talk time, for a full 25.0 hours of talk time after a full charge. Samsung has included a quad core Snapdragon 800 CPU, clocked at an impressive 2.3 GHz. A powerful Adreno 330 graphics processor is on board, as is a generous 32 GB of built-in closet space. A microSD slot has also been provided, supporting external storage cards up to 64 GB in size.
Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, DLNA and infrared wireless technologies are present, with the powerful Galaxy Note 3 phablet also offering the capability to act as a wireless hub for multiple Wi-Fi devices. The 13.0 megapixel snapper is capable of 4K video capture, and delivers a special effects package, a self timer, face and smile detection and several customization features. A front facing 2.0 megapixel camera has also been added, providing video call and video chat support. You can purchase the Galaxy Note 3 at a discounted purchase price starting at $199.
