The Galaxy Note 3 is easily one of the best smartphones that is not quite a tablet that is one the market today. It was released a couple of months ago and has been selling very well for all of the major mobile carriers in the United States. The price is typically around the $299.99 range depending on how much internal memory that you want. Samsung realizes that not everyone can afford to pay that price even through a mobile network, so the company wanted to do something about that with hopes of getting the Galaxy Note name out to more customers.
You can purchase the current Samsung Galaxy Note III at a reduced price tag stating at $169.
That is where the Galaxy Note 3 Lite comes into play. Rumors were passed along the Samsung had a couple of different ideas when it came to offering the Galaxy Note 3 and besides new colors; it was about new variations of the device. When the Galaxy Note 3 was announced, any other variant that was rumored was not mentioned and that seemingly put all of those rumors to rest. Until this week, when Samsung did officially announce the new, lower cost alternative to the Galaxy Note 3. The new device, which was leaked online this week, is reportedly going to be ready to ship early next year.
According to more than one online source, Samsung is reportedly going to be showcasing the new device at the Mobile World Congress event in Barceloa, Spain next year. That even is where consumers get a pretty good look at new devices that were not available at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. The model number for the new device is listed as SM-N7505 and the online source is claiming that to be the Galaxy Note 3 Lite. Samsung is reportedly testing a 5.5-inch and a 5.7-inch display for the device.
The odds are very good that the display is not going to be a Super AMOLED like the original Note 3, rather it might be something more cost effective like a typical LCD display panel. The cost will be less and that will help Samsung get the device to more people. Other than being smaller, the Lite model should have a quad-core processor powering it, although it will not be as fast as the original Note 3. Offering the smaller, “lighter” version of the Galaxy Note 3 is a good idea and should sell well in the United States. You can purchase the current Galaxy Note 3 at a discounted purchase price starting at $169.
