The Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G Android smartphone arrived at the end of last year as the first handset to deliver the Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) Android 4.0 operating system to a US handset. Verizon Wireless and their 4G LTE network was the original home of the handset, but recently the Sprint 4G LTE system which was just launched in the US last month became home to the Galaxy Nexus 4G as well. Google announced a few weeks ago that the Galaxy Nexus 4G Android smartphone would receive an over the air transfer to the new Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system, but stopped short of giving a specific launch date or roll-out schedule.
Unofficial Jelly Bean 4.1 builds have appeared online from independent developers, as Android is a free and open operating system, and multiple Android operating system versions usually appear in this manner before the official OS is released. The Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G offers one of the largest screens of any 4G smartphone, a powerful and speedy processor, and the most built-in, user accessible data storage of any 4G handset. Near Frequency Communications (NFC) wireless support is present out-of-the-box, and the Galaxy Nexus 4G offers one of the highest resolution displays of any smartphone.
Google is present throughout the handset, with Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk and Picasa pre-installed, and the Super AMOLED screen runs 4.65 inches in size. That large high-resolution touch screen delivers a pixel density of 316 pixels per inch, for an overall resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels. That display uses more than 16 million individual colors to render visuals, standard light and proximity sensors are on board to automatically adjust display brightness and conserve battery life, and an Oleophobic coating protects the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G display against chipping and scratching.
Since a separate chip handles all graphics processing, the 1.2 GHz dual core central processor is free to focus on other operations. The handset delivers 1.0 GB of RAM memory, and 32 GB of data storage are built-in. A 5.0 megapixel camcorder is built into the back of the handset, and provides video capture at 1,080P HD resolution. That rear snapper delivers autofocus, white balance, a panorama mode, a special effects package, a built-in LED flash and Geo tagging features, and joins a front facing 1.3 megapixel chat cam in the camera combo on board the Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G. Bluetooth stereo music is supported out-of-the-box, and the handset delivers up to 6.0 hours of talk time from a single charge. View the recently reduced price tag for the Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G

I was at Verizon today and a employee said he’s already had people come in with Jelly Bean updates on their phones. He’s said they’re doing a soak test. So its “unofficially official”. Could be in the next week!!!
