If you happen to have Sprint for your wireless provider of choice and have been eyeing the HTC EVO 4G LTE for quite some time now but haven’t had the reason to make the jump, then it would interest you to know that HTC is giving you that slight nudge to finally take the plunge. As it stands, the Taiwanese smartphone and tablet manufacturer is giving you more than enough motivation to bring home one of these babies. That being said, HTC announced via its Facebook page that it will give you $25 worth of credit that you can use in its HTC Watch video store as soon as you activate the service on your handset. The price of the phone at Sprint is $199.
The HTC Evo 4G LTE is also available at select retailers starting at a lower $79. The $25 watch credit doesn’t apply, but the $120 savings makes up for that.
For those living under a rock for the longest time, HTC Watch is an online video service offered by HTC where one can shop for movies or TV series for that matter. With an HTC Watch account, you can easily purchase or rent the said movies or TV series and watch them on up to five HTC devices using the same account.
New users who have accessed the service attest to the fact that upon creation of an HTC Watch account, a $25 credit will automatically be given to your account so you can enjoy the service. Sad to say, there is no information as to when this promotion will end so you better be fast in making a decision whether the Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE will be your next mobile weapon of choice or not.
A word of caution though to those interested in taking advantage of this – the $25 credit can only be used to rent movies or TV shows, it doesn’t allow you to purchase your choices. On a normal day, this wouldn’t be an issue at all. However, the selection of titles available for rent is relatively more limited compared to those what you can purchase so be very vigilant in using up that $25 credit, hear?
As for the HTC EVO 4G LTE, this handset was supposed to make its debut in the shelves of Sprint back in May. However, a holdup at the US Customs while the International Trade Commission reviewed and investigated the handset caused delays in its launch. The review was due to an injunction against the handset after Apple claimed that the HTC EVO 4G LTE infringed on several of the Cupertino-based company’s patents.
The HTC EVO 4G LTE already runs ICS for its operating system and this draws power from a QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset which basically gives the handset a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor and a full gigabyte of RAM. Storage space on the HTC EVO 4G LTE is rated at 16GB but this can still be expanded though. As for its display, the handset sports a Super IPS LCD2 panel that measures 4.7 inches diagonally and has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The handset also comes with dual shooters and one is a rear-facing 8MP camera while the other is a front-facing 1.3MP video call camera. You can buy the HTC Evo 4G LTE starting at $79 at select retailers.
