The launch of the HTC One 4G Android smartphone on the Verizon Wireless network in the US is no longer rumor. It is simply a matter of time before the powerful smartphone hits Verizon, and in advance of that release, Amazon recently discounted the price of the HTC One running on Sprint’s 4G network to $79 on contract. This is no doubt a move to capture as much market share as possible on the new Sprint 4G LTE system, which recently added Michigan cities to total more than 100 markets in the United States.

An anonymous HTC executive recently told the Wall Street Journal that a full 5 million units of the HTC One have been sold globally, and the popular handset appears to have settled into the number three best-selling spot behind the Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5 in the US. No release date has been given by Verizon for the HTC One smartphone, nor has a price tag been mentioned. The 4.7 inch Super-LCD 3 display is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2, and delivers the highest pixel density of any mobile handset ever designed.
468 color pixels per inch cover the display, for a total resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. That gives the screen a Full HD designation, and the device delivers 16 hours of talk time from a full charge. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 APQ8064T system chip is built around a quad core 1.7 GHz CPU, and a powerful Adreno 320 graphics processor is also on board. The handset delivers generous storage and memory, with 32 GB of built-in storage space present, and 2.0 gigs of RAM memory.
Going away from the trend of more megapixels on their camera, the smartphone manufacturer designed the rear facing camcorder of the HTC One with just a 2.0 megapixel lens. However, by combining that lens with a special optical lens system, a more advanced CMOS image sensor and ISP, the company created what they have called the UltraPixel. The 2.0 UltraPixel camera can actually capture more light, up to 300%, then other smartphone cameras with 8 or 13 megapixel lenses. Video is recorded at 1,080P HD resolution, and a front facing chat cam provides video call support.
