It was reported a couple of days back that the LG Optimus G Pro was already introduced to the smartphone-buying population in US shores by its manufacturer. The current LG flagship device boasts of a massive 5.5-inch display and is designed to compete primarily with the Samsung Galaxy Note II. This only means that the days of the LG Optimus G, its predecessor, in the shelves are already numbered and the once flagship device of LG could already head to retirement.

The LG Optimus G is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $0.00.

This however means great news to those wanting to get their hands on a very capable handset at just a fraction of its original price. As it stands, manufacturers and carriers have a tendency to cut the prices of their slightly aging devices in preparation for the arrival of newer and more powerful devices. This seems to be the case of the LG Optimus G which Sprint released in US shores.

With the imminent arrival of the LG Optimus G Pro, Sprint saw it fit to slash the price point of the once flagship device of LG to make it more affordable than ever. This development will give the people who are gunning for a premium quality high-end device the chance to do so and in the process save a lot of hard-earned dinero. At the moment, the price point of the Sprint LG Optimus G has dropped down to almost free which simply means that the handset is now the best budget-friendly superphone in the Android lineup of the Now Network. In addition to that, Sprint has also given the green light to its authorized retailers to sell the LG Optimus G at this heavily-discounted price point. Of course, those interested in taking advantage of this deal Sprint currently has will be required to sign a new two-year service agreement with the Now Network as customary.

For those unfamiliar with the LG Optimus G, the handset was unveiled back in October last year and the handset became available in the shelves for public consumption during the 4th quarter of 2012. During this time, the once LG flagship was adjudged as the one handset that could challenge the superiority of the Samsung Galaxy S III in the market and give the Samsung flagship a serious run for its money.

Under the hood, the LG Optimus G came with very impressive components powering its operation. It has its circuitry revolving around a QualComm APQ8064 SnapDragon chipset while a quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor works in conjunction with 2GB of RAM in generating the computing power needed by the handset to keep its performance as flawless as possible. The LG Optimus G came with 32GB of onboard storage but the handset lacks support for memory expansion. In terms of its display, the handset boasts of a 4.7-inch True HD IPS Plus capacitive multitouch panel with a 1280 x 768 resolution while its dual-shooter configuration is very impressive with a main 13MP shooter at its back panel and a secondary 1.3MP video call and self-portrait snapper at its front bezel.

The LG Optimus G can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $0.00.
