Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G Performance Review, Retail Pricing

Originally arriving exclusive to the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system in the United States in December of last year, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G Android smartphone is now flying along speedily on the brand-new Sprint 4G LTE network. Sprint recently announced they would be adding more than 100 major Metropolitan areas to their first ever 4G LTE system in the US, and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4Garrived on Sprint’s US platforms on April 22 of this year. Sprint recently dropped the retail price of that handset to around $49 on contract with online smartphone retailers like Wirefly. And though the handset has been available for going on one year, it still offers a feature set and performance package making it favorably comparable to other 4G LTE smartphones. With Near Field Communications (NFC) support out-of-the-box, apps like Google Wallet And Android Beam provide wireless connectivity options.

The Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G delivers the most out-of-the-box, built-in data storage at 32 GB, and uses a 1.2 GHz dual core central processor to power the handset. A separate graphics specific GPU handles all graphics processing, and is part of a Texas Instruments OMAP 4460 microchip suite. The handset offers a full 1.0 GB of RAM system memory, and delivers up to 7.50 hours of talk time from a single charge of its 1,850 mA battery on the Sprint wireless network. The handset offers a 4.65 inch Super AMOLED capacitive, multitouch screen with high-end display resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels. That delivery is performed at 316 pixels every inch, also a high-end designation, and more than 16 million unique colors are used and that display. A front facing VGA quality 1.3 megapixel chat cam joins a 5.0 megapixel camcorder in the camera combo, and that rear snapper is capable of recording video in 1080 P HD resolution. The camcorder also comes equipped with a built-in LED flash and f/2.8 lens, widescreen panorama mode, autofocus and special effects package.
