The handset currently retails for around $49 on contract at select online retail outlets like the Amazon Wireless store. Simultaneous voice and data access means never having to end a voice call so you can check your e-mail or surf the web, and the handset is slim at 0.37 inches (9.47 mm). A scratch resistant Oleophobic coating protects the large 4.65 inch Super AMOLED display, which delivers high-end pixel density and resolution. 316 pixels are located over every inch of display space, and resolution runs 720 x 1,280 pixels overall.

That display on the Galaxy Nexus includes more than 16 million different colors, and standard capacitive, multitouch gestures are supported. Talk time runs 7.50 hours from a single charge of the Galaxy Nexus 1,850 mA battery, and standby battery power lasts approximately 6.2 days. YouTube and Picasa applications have been pre-installed, and the handset offers NFC wireless support out-of-the-box.

In the hardware package on board the Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G, a Texas Instruments OMAP 4460 microchip suite is built around a dual core 1.2 GHz Cortex A9 CPU. A PowerVR SGX540 GPU handles all graphics processing, 32 GB of data storage are built-in, as well as 1.0 GB of RAM memory. A 5.0 megapixel camcorder is built into the back of the Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G, and is capable of 1,080P HD resolution video recording. A chat capable camera is built into the front of the handset, and that camera offers video call support.
