Sprint launched its first ever 4G LTE network in the United States this year, and it is home to the Samsung Galaxy Note II big-screen smartphone/tablet. The handset was spotted recently at the Amazon Wireless store during their year end sale, with price tag under $150 on contract. The Galaxy Note II delivers the largest smartphone screen, a powerful quad core processor, and is the first Samsung mobile handset to rock the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out-of-the-box.
The Galaxy Note II for Sprint is available at a reduced sale price now starting at $99.99.
That OS delivers an updated Google Now with contextual search and virtual personal assistant, and has also been tagged as a SAFE device, meaning it is safe for enterprise and business use. This is due to an updated security profile which protects your sensitive data and communications. Available in either titanium gray or marble white, the Samsung Galaxy Note II running on the Sprint 4G LTE network returns with the popular smart stylus S Pen and native handwriting recognition technology that debuted on the original Galaxy Note.
The quad core 1.6 GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor allows the Galaxy Note II to offer extreme multitasking capabilities. You can create original artwork, doodle or draw in your own handwriting, jot down directions or shoot out a text message even while in the middle of a voice call. You can also send e-mails and surf the web without interrupting a video or movie you are watching. And when you pull the S Pen out of its cradle, a new home screen pops up that provides one touch access to the most popular S Pen applications.
The handset launched on the Sprint network on October 25, and though it does deliver a huge screen and powerful hardware, the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II 4G is very slim at 0.37 inches (9.3 mm). Samsung has added their TouchWiz user interface that works with the Jelly Bean 4.1 OS, and it accepts standard capacitive, multitouch gestures. Resolution is at the high end of the mobile marketplace at 720 x 1,280 pixels, delivered at a rate of 265 pixels per inch, and presented in more than 16 million colors.
Battery performance is excellent, with the oversized 3,100 mA battery delivering a full 15.0 hours of talk time from a single charge. Standby battery power will last you approximately 12.0 days, and the Samsung Exynos 4 microchip on board includes the above-mentioned CPU as well as a quad core ARM Mali 400 MP4 graphics processor. 2.0 GB of RAM memory is built-in, as is 16 GB of data storage which can be accentuated by the on board microSD slot. Video capture runs 1,080P HD resolution on the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder, and the Sprint Galaxy Note II comes equipped with a YouTube video player and Stereo FM radio with RDS.
You can purchase the Galaxy Note II for Sprint for a discounted sale price now starting at $99.99.
