According to sources for Koreatimes, smartphone manufacturer Samsung will debut a prototype of their upcoming Galaxy Note III phablet in Seoul later this week. The reveal is going to take place during a meeting with high-level AT&T executives, to include the chief marketing officer for AT&T’s American division. Often times announcements for an upcoming smartphone will put downward pressure on the price of the existing handsets in that lineup, and that is exactly what recently happened to the Galaxy Note II.
On the heels of that announcement, Sprint reduced the price tag on their Galaxy Note II 4G Android smartphone. The handset currently retails for $69 on contract at the Amazon Wireless store online. The Galaxy Note II is frequently a top five best-selling smartphone at the Amazon Wireless store, and the new budget price tag will certainly do nothing to hurt its sales popularity. The Note II delivers a powerful quad core processor and one of the largest displays of any smartphone in the mobile marketplace.
That phone has also been popular in part due to its multi-window feature, which allows you to divide your display into two active windows. Splitting the screen into two parts allows for advanced multitasking, and you can move content and availability between both screens. For instance, you can open up your e-mail on one half of the display, while you browse the web on the second. Of course, the sale only applies to new customers. Sprint’s loyal customers must pay $249.99 for an upgrade. I refuse to pay that much for a phone, no matter how much I’d really like it.
