When Samsung came out with the Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE back in September of last year via Sprint shelves in US shores, a lot of our smartphone-crazed brethren were expecting to see the handset run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for its operating system. Sad to say, you don’t always get what you want because Samsung instead decided to slap Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the innards of the handset instead – which ended in a collective groan of disapproval among the smartphone-buying population.
The Samsung Galaxy Victory is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $0.01.
However, word on the street is that the Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE is about to get cranked up to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The source of these speculations is that a preliminary leak of the Jelly Bean OTA for the handset has recently surfaced. This leaked build of Jelly Bean for the Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE is said to already be the complete OTA package and comes with software version L300VPALJ9 and weighs in at a rather hefty 370 MB. Be advised however that leaks are almost always hefty because they haven’t been stripped off of things that are not that relevant to its operation.
There is no indication however if the official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OTA update when it arrives will have the same look as this leaked Jelly Bean build and both Samsung and Sprint are yet to come out in the open to announce their plans in getting the Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE its much-deserved Jelly Bean dessert.
If you happen to have a Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE from Sprint and can no longer wait for Sprint and Samsung to come around and release the much-awaited Jelly Bean for the handset, you have the option of downloading and flashing this leaked Jelly Bean build onto your device. Be reminded as always that tinkering with your device will surely turn your warranty to toast or worse, turn your beloved handset into a nice building material.
As for the Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE, the handset’s addition to Sprint’s portfolio of Android-powered devices was announced back in September as mentioned earlier. The handset also promptly made it to the shelves for public consumption during the same month. The dimensions of the handset come up to 121.9 x 63.5 x 12.7 mm and it tips the scales at 139 grams. Under the hood, the operation of the Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE is powered by a QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset with a dual-core 1.2 GHz Krait processor and a full gigabyte of RAM.
The storage space onboard the device though is very meager though at just 4GB but this can still be expanded using the handset’s dedicated microSD card slot. Display-wise, the Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE comes with a 4.0-inch TFT panel with a 480 x 800 resolution while its camera department boasts of a rear 5MP shooter and a front 1.3MP snapper.
You can purchase the Galaxy Victory at a discounted price tag now starting at $0.01.
