Sprint launched their virginal 4G LTE system in the United States a little more than a month ago. That network infrastructure will include more than 100 major Metropolitan networks in the United States by the end of the year, and will give the powerful quad core processor of the Sprint Galaxy Note II a speedy network to run on. The Galaxy Note II 4G Android mobile handset/tablet is the first smartphone made by Samsung to deliver Android’s 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out-of-the-box.
That operating system delivers new graphical features, a context Google search and improved Google Now, and an overall speedier and smoother user interface. And the Galaxy Note II received SAFE designation, as it includes security features not found on most smartphones which go the extra mile to safeguard your sensitive data and communications. Officially launching October 25 this year on the Sprint network, the handset returns the popular smart stylus S Pen and native handwriting recognition technology from the original Samsung Galaxy Note.
You have your choice of marble white or titanium gray as a body color, and the Sprint Galaxy Note II allows you to write down directions, messages or notes in your own handwriting, even if you are in the middle of a voice call. The simultaneous voice and data access also lets you send out a text message, shoot out an e-mail or surf the web while you are simultaneously watching videos and movies. Android’s 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system meshes with the Samsung TouchWiz UI, and the handset is slim at 0.37 inches (9.3 mm).
Regardless of that slim profile, the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II 4G delivers the largest smartphone display, at 5.55 inches. That screen is protected against everyday wear and tear by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2, and the display is built in a true HD 16 to 9 aspect ratio. Resolution runs 720 x 1,280 pixels, with more than 16 million individual colors used on visual displays. That screen supports capacitive, multitouch gestures from your hand as well as input from the S Pen, with light and proximity sensors delivering auto brightness adjustment and battery conservation.
At nearly double the average talk time from a 4G smartphone, the Sprint Galaxy Note II delivers 15.0 hours of talk time from a single charge. The 3,100 mA oversized, extended life battery on board the handset also gives you up to 12.0 days of standby battery power. The quad core 1.6 GHz CPU is the cornerstone of a Samsung Exynos 4 microchip package, and the handset delivers a full 2.0 GB of RAM system memory. 16 GB of data storage are built-in, with a microSD slot added for storage expansion. A Stereo FM radio with RDS display has been added, and the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder provides video capture at 1,080P HD resolution.
