Straight Talk is a pre-paid mobile carrier that is operated by Tracfone and is mostly sold through Wal-Mart stores. The pre-paid carrier is one that has more affordable unlimited plans than any other on the market today. Just this week the company announced that it would be supporting 4G LTE on the AT&T network via SIM cards, including smaller ones that fit into the new iPhone 5S’s nano-SIM slot. Just in time for the release of the iPhone 5S, Straight Talk brought the AT&T SIM cards back and now they will come with support for one of the largest 4G LTE networks in the country.
The cards sell for just $7 online and will fit into most of the Android smartphones and iPhone models. This will give consumers an option if they have a smartphone, unlocked or not, and want to take part in the unlimited data, talk and text plans that Straight Talk offers to consumers. The plans for unlimited everything start at just $45 per month with an international plan that comes for just $60 per month. Going with Straight Talk, you would be saving hundreds per year on your smartphone bill.
Those consumers that have been testing the networks with Straight Talk also said that if you have a Verizon Wireless iPhone 5S you can buy the AT&T SIM card and enjoy the 4G LTE network giving you very fast download speeds on a pre-paid network. At this point there is no indication that Straight Talk will be offering the new iPhone 5S with its branding and Wal-Mart did not comment when asked if the option would be coming in the future. Only months after the initial iPhone 5 release did the top selling smartphone make it to the Straight Talk network, so it is possible the new model will be sold with that branding as well.
If you have an unlocked iPhone 5S from AT&T or Apple, or a Verizon Wireless iPhone 5S, you can buy the AT&T SIM card with 4G LTE support from Straight Talk for just $7 and be activated and connected in no time. Users will have to get a SIM card cutter for just $3 in order to trim the AT&T card to fit into an iPhone, but at least the option is there and will certainly still be worth the savings that you will see.
