For quite some time now, users of the Verizon variant of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus have been trying to confirm if the Android 4.0.4 update really did get rolled out for the handset. There were claims in the past that the pertinent update files for the update can be found in Google’s servers while there are some who claim that display units of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in brick and mortar stores of the carrier are already running Android 4.0.4 for that matter.

However, during the time that news reports about the supposed Android 4.0.4 update for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus are the talk of the town, the supposed changelog of the update did not come up on the official support site of the wireless provider. When you come to think of it, whenever Verizon is about to unleash an update for any of its devices, the carrier can be expected to make the details of the update available at the said support site. This wasn’t the case though when the Android 4.0.4 update for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus was still the hot item in the news.

Until now, that is.

Soon users of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will wake up to the changelog of the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich already on the official support site of the wireless provider. This only means that the said update is now as official as it can get and an OTA rollout can now be expected to happen within the next couple of days.

As for the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, it will bring improvements not only to the applications and device features of the handset but to its email and messaging apps as well. Improvements to applications are mostly for the calendar app of the handset wherein full notes are now viewable when looking at an appointment or reminder. In addition to that, the calendar message was made expandable to enable a user to view the whole message.

In terms of email and messaging, the update will properly display emails even when its text size is too large. Additionally, deleted emails on the handset will also get automatically deleted from the desktop after the update has been applied to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Sending of text messages will also become more efficient.

In terms of improvements to device features, the update will prevent the display of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus from becoming unresponsive. Also, audio call quality gets improved and the handset’s Voice Mail along with other automated system can now be accessed without issues or errors.

With all the goodies and treats that the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update will bring to the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus, I’m sure users of the handset will no longer think about the length of time spent in waiting for this particular update to land. And as mentioned earlier, with the details of the update already up and running in Verizon’s support site, the rollout of the update can now be expected to happen in the next couple of days.  Buy the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus starting at $49.
