Consumers could see new Samsung tablets within next 2 weeks is a post from: Mobile Bloom News

]]>
galaxytabproSamsung is doing consumers a disservice this year by offering more devices on the mobile market than they will have time to check out. At the recent Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas this year, Samsung hit the stage to reveal all sorts of new devices, none of which was the Galaxy S5. Even though most of the attendees expecting to learn more about the smartphone, they were pleasantly excited to learn more about the new tablets. The company noted that four more tablets would be available on the market sometime in the first quarter of this year.

A few things about each of the devices was revealed at the show, but the pricing was not mentioned at all. According to reports, the new tablets could be on the market as soon as 3 weeks from now, just in time for Valentine’s Day. The tablets are going to be priced to the high side of things and that should come as a little surprise to those that follow along in the tablet market. Samsung made more than one comment about focusing business on the high end devices that it would like to bring to the marketplace.

The four new tablets have been talked about a little bit in the last three weeks with most of the consumers knowing that they can expect to see one at 8.4-inches, one at 10.1-inches and two models that will measure 12.2-inches in size. The Galaxy Tab Pro line will see the 8.4, 10.1 and a 12.2 model, while the other 12.2 model will be considered the Galaxy Note Pro line. Of the four new models, they are all expected to ship with LTE support, as well as a Wi-Fi only model for those that do not need LTE data on the go.

The Galaxy Note Pro series will be coming with a pen stylus and the suite of software that coincides with that, much like you can see with the Galaxy Note phablet series. The international pricing has been revealed in Euros at this point, but if you are looking to pick up the new Galaxy 12.2-inch model, you could be looking to pay more than $1,000 in the United States. A lot of times the pricing we see overseas does not translate to what we see for the models that end up in the country.

Android powered Nokia handset could be released at Mobile World Congress is a post from: Mobile Bloom News

]]>
nokia2For more than a few months now, it have been rumored that Android was going to appear on a Nokia smartphone very soon. After a bunch of leaked information, the Nokia Normandy was rumored and now it looks like another leak is showing the new device could arrive for the public to see at the Mobile World Congress event coming up. The device is rumored to be running a forked version of the Android operating system, much like Amazon devices, and it could come as the Nokia X.

Nokia looks to be getting away from the Lumia branding at least for this smartphone and that could be because it will be running another operating system altogether. The device has not been announced by Nokia at this time and it is unclear when it might be. The odds, however, are very good that it will show up at the Mobile World Congress event coming up in Barcelona, Spain. Nokia has already sent out press invites for the event, but there is no indication at this point the device will be showcased there. The first time the Nokia X name showed up was last week.

A user via Twitter sent out a message that the “Project Normandy = Nokia X” and that is the only information worth going on right now. The Twitter user has been well known for years to be releasing correct information about new smartphones compared to any information that would be considered incorrect. Nokia made the move from its own Symbian smartphone software years ago to partner exclusively with Microsoft and the Windows Phone software with hopes have getting out of the market share slump the company was in. Since then smartphones have been selling well with main features like better camera’s and software leading the way.

Now, it looks like any deal with Microsoft could have ended and Nokia wants a piece of the Android market. Even though it will be powered by Android, the version could look very different from what we are used to seeing on most Android devices that do not come with a custom user interface installed. Rumors are that the Nokia X will be an entry level device not likely to be competing against any of the higher end device that Nokia has released under the Lumia branding.

Sony releases the Xperia Z Ultra Tablet is a post from: Mobile Bloom News

]]>
xperiaultrazSony already had the Xperia Z Ultra on the market and that is a 6.4-inch phablet, now it looks like the company is going to be taking that same design, minus the phone option and the broadband radio and turning it into a tablet. Leaked information that has shown up online suggests that Sony is taking the modified Ultra Z and releasing it as a smaller than average tablet. Many of the features and specs would stay the same in the tablet version, other than the fact that it will be Wi-Fi only.

Now there is a listing at the FCC that shows the Xperia Z Ultra as a Wi-Fi only option for the United States and according to the listing, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. The 6.4-inch touch screen display has a 1080p HD resolution and is teamed up with the 2GB of RAM to keep things moving smoothly in the streaming department. The camera on the back side is an 8MP model and that comes with camera features that many have become used to with smartphones, like auto focus, HDR mode and touch to focus.

The tablet will come with 16GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot that will help you expand your storage if needed. The bad side of the Xperia Z Ultra phablet is that you must buy it from Sony for use on AT&T and T-Mobile networks so there are very few options for you unless you want to pay full retail up front. Now that the same specs are going to be offered in a Wi-Fi only tablet, you can experience the powerful processer of the Xperia Z Ultra without having to connect to a mobile network.

Removing things like the 3G and 4G antennas is an easy way for a mobile company to reduce cost in a new product and that makes it more widely available. The display is larger than most smartphones only being ½ inch smaller than a 7-inch Nexus or Galaxy Tab tablet. The Mobile World Congress event is coming up next month and that is likely to be where you will see the device showcased to the public for the first time. With the same hardware specs and Android software, the smaller tablet would be the perfect device for those that want the powerful device in a different form factor.

Rumors about Google Nexus 8 are still floating around is a post from: Mobile Bloom News

]]>
nexus8As if Google didn’t already have a nice grasp on the tablet market with the new Nexus 7 model for this year, it looks like the company might be getting closer to releasing an 8-inch model of the popular device. Google released the newest model of the Nexus 7 about 6 months ago and it looks like by the middle of this year we could see the rumored 8-inch model show up at the Google Play Store. The Nexus rumors that hit the web recently might have had to do something with the Nexus 10 being replaced by a new model finally.

Other than that, other rumors have surfaced that suggest that Google is looking to get into the 8-inch tablet market with a new Nexus model. According to one online source, the supply chain that is taking care of the device, claims that Google is ready to shift into an 8-inch Nexus tablet and although the device does not provide any specific dates for the release, it could be based on the historical release dates of other devices. In the past, Google has been releasing new tablets to the market by the end of summer most years.

With that being said, it is easy to assume that Google will be doing the same with this new tablet if it is the real deal. The tablet is likely to be made by ASUS, which has been the go to company for other Google tablets and the processor could be one from Intel or Qualcomm according to rumors that are picking up steam as we move to close on one month into the 2014 year. Google has historically replaced an older model tablet with a new, more powerful option, as well as a new version of the Android operating system.

Towards the end of last year, the 8-inch Nexus model was reportedly going to be released, but instead LG released the G Pad 8.3-inch Google Edition. Since then, the rumors have been picking up about the new 8-inch model of the Nexus tablet. Having to compete with the iPad Mini from Apple and other smaller tablets from Samsung and Sony on the market, Google is going to have to make it well worth it for those looking for a tablet in order to skip passed the 7-inch model for the 8-inch version.

Samsung releases the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is a post from: Mobile Bloom News

]]>
galaxytab3liteStarting in the last month of 2013, there were more reports that Samsung was going to be bringing more tablets to the market and for the most part the one that is getting the most attention for obvious reasons is the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2. Even though attention is on the largest tablet on the market today, that does not mean that Samsung is going to leave the tablet market at that. In fact, reports that showed up this week are indicating that Samsung is far from getting away from tablets as the company quietly released the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite.

Getting lower cost, entry level tablets to the market is one thing that Samsung said it was going to be doing and after releasing a couple of the highest end devices at the Consumer Electronics Show this year, it was a surprise that the company was going to reach both ends of the spectrum when it comes to features, software and hardware for devices. The Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is going to fit right in with the rest of the affordable Android powered tablets.

The Galaxy Tab 3 from last year was pretty flat in terms of what it brought to the table and there is not much more to expect from an entry level option with the word “Lite” in the name. The tablet features a 7-inch 1024×600 touch screen display, comes with a slower dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and just 1GB of RAM. It might compare to other 7-inch tablets on the market today, but even some of them are coming with quad-core power and 2GB of RAM. The Galaxy Tab 3 Lite comes with 8GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot for memory expansion which you will most likely need.

The tablet comes with a 3,600mAh battery, but that is only going to bring about 8 hours of daily use and the operating system is just Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, which is quite step behind the Android 4.4 KitKat software of today. Pricing and exact availability have not been announced just yet, but that should be announced soon as the tablet has been rumored to be coming very soon. The Lite model comes in black or white and in 3G and Wi-Fi only options as well, for different pricing options as expected.

Microsoft gets Surface 2 and Surface 2 Pro back in stock is a post from: Mobile Bloom News

]]>
surface2The Surface tablet has not exactly been the best deal for Microsoft over the last year or more as the company has reportedly written off millions because of poor sales. That has not stopped the company from offering a new version last year with the Surface 2 and the Surface 2 Pro. The new tablets were offered and even though they were bumped up in specs, the sales did not really take off, but interestingly they two models were out of stock recently. This caused those that were actually interested to check for stock at their local Best Buy and Staples stores.

According to reports, the two models are now back in stock if you are looking for the 32GB, or 64GB, model of the Surface 2. The Surface Pro 2 is only available in the 128GB, 256GB and 512GB of storage, which are priced quite a bit higher than the 64GB model that costs you just $899. There is also the original Surface tablet that comes with 32GB of internal memory, but that is offered without a case and is actually out of stock right now.

The two tablets were launched back in October by Microsoft and since they were out of stock those that want to make the purchase have been asking for specific information regarding the stock of the devices. Almost as soon as the holidays came around the two models were harder to find than when they first arrived and since then even harder with little information about stock to go on. The Surface tablet stock was not the only thing that was low as the covers and cases were also running low according to the website. Since last week, the two cases have been added back to the Microsoft website.

The odds are very good that Microsoft brought a lower amount of tablets to the market this time around after learning their lesson with the original model of the surface tablet. Microsoft is not exactly in the tablet market as the Surface is really more of a tablet designed laptop for portability with a much higher price and that is part of the reason the sales are lacking. With powerful products like the Apple iPad, Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, Google Nexus 7 and the Kindle Fire HDX, the Surface has a lot of competition at a better price point.

Docking stations for Nexus 7 available online is a post from: Mobile Bloom News

]]>
nexus7wirelessPW100If you picked up one of the new Nexus 7 tablets from last year you might be looking around for a docking station so you can prop that thing up and charge it at the same time. ASUS makes the tablet and with the improved specs over the 2012 model, the company has been gaining plenty of attention from those that want an affordable 7-inch tablet option. The tablet has almost been around for six months now and official accessories are finally starting to find their way to the internet for purchase.

When the Nexus 7 showed up in the Play Store last year it came along with a couple cases, sleeves and wireless chargers, but that was it. Official charging docks were one accessory that is typically a hot seller, but was absent at the time. According to reports from this week, ASUS has finally got a couple of docking options ready for the new tablet. Two new docks have appeared for sale overseas and there is evidence posted online that those in the United States will be seeing those options very soon. Pictures and other details have been leaked online and they provide plenty of information for consumers looking to buy one.

One of the options is the wireless PW100, which is being sold in Europe right now for just $50 and by the looks of the photos, the dock would hold the Nexus 7 upright for easy viewing while the device is getting charged wirelessly. If you are not into the wireless charging option, ASUS also made one that is wired and offers a landscape or portrait option when docked, plus there is an HDMI out option for video features. Because there is no exact release date for the United States, the information is being passed along as rumor.

The company will most likely offer them in the United States as well, since it is an official product and there are more sales in the United States then overseas at this point. Other accessories that have been made for the Nexus 7 include cases, sleeves and covers that will help to protect your tablet while you are on the go or not using it at any moment. Amazon is loaded with third party accessories that include screen protectors, tablet mouse, travel stands and much more.

Reports suggest Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 coming to Verizon Wireless 4G LTE is a post from: Mobile Bloom News

]]>
Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2There is no doubt that one of the most talked about devices that was revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show this year was the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 from Samsung. Moving the display size up to 12.2-inches in the tablet market is a huge step above all of the others that are stuck at just 10.1-inches and now it looks like those of you that are on the Verizon Wireless network could be seeing the device very soon. The device did come with support for 4G LTE and now that it was recently spotted at the FCC for approval, it could be possible that you see it before the summer.

Just because the device is going through the approval process at the FCC does not mean that Verizon Wireless will be selling it on the network with 4G LTE access, but the odds are very good at this point. The only other model from Samsung that is on the 4G LTE network is the Galaxy Note 10.1 and since the Galaxy Note 8 was not released on the Verizon Wireless network, many wondered if new devices would show up there right away or only months later.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 model is only available as a Wi-Fi only option, while the Note 8 was only released on the AT&T network, so moving to take the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 to the 4G LTE network is a huge step for Verizon Wireless. It wasn’t that long ago that the 10.1 model from this year was also located in the FCC documentation, but that device has yet to be officially announced by either of the two companies. The Galaxy Note 12.2 went through the FCC process with model number SM-P905V and comes with support for LTE bands 4 and 13.

Many sat around with the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 at the Consumer Electronics Show this year and found that even though the display is 2-inches larger than most tablets, the device was still light and portable. The high resolution 2560×1600 touch screen display was reviewed as sharp and crisp and with all of that extra room, multi-tasking on the device would be even easier than it is on the 10.1-inch models. With a 12.2-inch display, Windows netbooks and Ultrabooks might have something to worry about from Samsung.

Nexus 7 tablet now available on Verizon Wireless network is a post from: Mobile Bloom News

]]>
nexus7Just like every other device that goes to Verizon Wireless, the Nexus 7 had to wait in line and seemingly get the golden ticket in order to be sold on one of the largest cellular networks in the country. It has been since November that rumors circulated that Verizon Wireless was finally going to offer the new Nexus 7 tablet from Google, but the exact date was never discussed at that time. This month is just about half over and now there is confirmation that Verizon Wireless will finally be offering the new tablet to its subscribers.

Almost 2.5 months later, Verizon Wireless has finally confirmed that the Google Nexus 7 2013 model will be ready to ship this week and it will come with LTE support for the fastest network in the country. Google initially suggested that all 4G LTE networks in the country would be ready to take the Nexus 7, but shortly after that announcement, Verizon Wireless stated that it would not be certifying the device so quickly. Just like with many other devices, like the HTC One, Verizon Wireless finally gets its plan together to offer the new devices, only months after other carriers.

At first, rumors suggested that Verizon Wireless was going to be waiting until the Android 4.4 KitKat software was ready because Android 4.3 Jelly Bean would cause issues with its network. The new Nexus 7 does support Verizon Wirelesses’ 4G LTE network, but there is not 3G connection available should you leave the 4G area. Not having a 3G radio might have been the reason that Verizon Wireless waited so long to certify the device. Now it is available and it will be shipping to customers without any Verizon Wireless branding.

If you would like to pick up the Google Nexus 7 2013, you can also do so from the Verizon Wireless website and the model in the Google Play store will now list Verizon as a supported mobile carrier in the United States. The prices when shopping in any location should be the same and that is about $349 for the 32GB model of the 2013 Nexus 7. The Nexus 5 smartphone, on the other hand, will not be available on the Verizon Wireless network, so if you were hoping that would change, you are out of luck at this time.

Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 revealed at CES 2014 is a post from: Mobile Bloom News

]]>
Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2The Consumer Electronics Show this year has been going very well and the products coming from Samsung are looking pretty good. Samsung broke back into the tablet market this week with something a little larger than average. The Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 showed up and is going to get the attention of those that have run out of room with the typical 10-inch. The 12.2-inch Galaxy Note Pro has a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and will be large compared to some 12 and 13-inch Windows powered tablets or laptops on the market today.

The overall design of the new 12.2-inch device is the same as the Galaxy Note 10.1-inch model from this year. It features a very slim profile, with a faux leather back cover and stitching that gives it a very luxurious feel. With the leather on the back cover, the new device is easily less slippery while holding it, compared to some other Samsung devices made from glossy plastic. Because the new tablet is a part of the Galaxy series, it also comes with S Pen stylus support. Special commands for the pen are also supported like the Air Command menu, adding more functionality for taking screenshots, clipping things to the scrapbook and launching smaller floating windows called Pen Windows for multitasking.

The most notable change with the larger tablet is that supports multitasking for up to four applications at one time. In the past, you would have access to the feature through a menu, but now you can simply swipe from the right side of the tablet to launch Multi Window View. Once that is running you can tap and hold, drag and drop apps that you want to use in that view.

Apps that are running inside of the Multi Window View can also be resized in case you have some apps that you want to see more information in than others. The tablet is powered by Android 4.4 KitKat software with a customizable Magazine UX interface, which is the same one that can be seen on the Galaxy Note 10.1 from this year. If you have dealt with an HTC powered device, you might recognize the interface, because it looks similar to the Sense user interface on the HTC One smartphone. There are plenty of upgrades to test out on the new tablet, but the overall size is sure to gain most of your attention.
