Arriving with a “large but not too large” 4.0 inch display and more compact physical design than the big-screen behemoths currently roaming the 4G smartphone landscape, the Droid Incredible 4G LTE smartphone delivers Android’s 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system out-of-the-box. The handset measures 4.82 x 2.40 x 0.46 inches (122 x 61 x 12 mm) and weighs 4.66 ounces (132 g), designed in the typical candy bar form factor as a rectangular slab.

The Super LCD screen runs 4.00 inches, and is protected by a scratch resistant and glare reducing layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. Pixel density runs 275 pixels per inch, for an overall display resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. Video out is offered through DLNA wireless connectivity, and standard light and proximity sensors automatically adjust for the best possible screen brightness and help conserve battery life. Standard capacitive, multitouch gestures are used to navigate the handset.
The Droid Incredible 4G LTE Android handset runs on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE platform in the US, and battery conservation efforts team up with the 1,700 mA battery on board to offer approximately 20% better talk time than the standard 4G smartphone, at 9.57 hours. Standby time is better than two weeks, running roughly 18.6 days.
In the hardware package on board the handset, a graphics specific Adreno 225 chip joins a dual core 1.2 GHz Krait central processor in the Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon microchip package that powers the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE. The handset also delivers 8.0 GB of built-in data storage and 1.0 GB of RAM memory. Supporting microSDHC cards as well, the built-in microSD slot accepts cards up to 32 GB in size.
The camera combo on the handset includes an 8.0 megapixel camcorder (rear) and 1.3 megapixel chat cam (front). The chat cam is capable of 720 P HD video recording, portrait snapshot capturing, and video call support. The rear camcorder delivers simultaneous HD video and image recording, and captures video at 1,080P HD resolution and in stereo sound.
That rear snapper is also capable of instant image capture and automatic image correction, and comes equipped with a 28mm wide-angle lens that offers panorama wide screen capabilities. The high dynamic range (HDR) mode is effective for tricky backlight situations, taking photos at multiple exposures and blending them so the subjects are perfectly lit.
