After securing the verdict in their favour in a lawsuit that could decide the future of the smartphone market, Apple is all set to move on to its next agenda. These being several announcements on the products, we can expect from the Cupertino based company. First of these announcements begins on the 12th of September, where Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 5. Despite the rumours, Apple will not reveal details pertaining to its much hyped 7-inch tablet, which is being dubbed as iPad mini. Reports confirmed that both these products will be launched in separate events this fall, rather than the initial speculations of a single event.
Although details of the September 12th event are yet to be announced, Apple is not expected to disappoint. However, it has been confirmed that only after the release is announced will Apple reveal its treasured product: the iPad mini. Sources have revealed that features of the iPad mini will be revealed in the month of October. Many believe that the reason why Apple has decided to separate these announcements is because both are high profile releases and one shouldn’t the hinder the other’s success. Several pundits including Daring Fireball’s John Gruber posted that Apple will likely release both these devices in separate events and reports of both being released in a single events were clearly off-base. Like most pundits, Gruber was also off the opinion that Apple wouldn’t want to dilute the attention from one product by introducing both together. There arises no need to hurry into the releases of these products, as it reviews would only bring in comparisons between the two thus depreciating the value of one in comparison to the other. The iPhone clearly is an invite to attention and another product sharing the same stage is likely to go unnoticed. Thus Apple would obviously prefer different release dates for these products.
Eventually websites that stating that the two products would be released at the same events changed their opinion as the other option sounded more logical. Apple on the other hand would be looking at increasing its command in both the smartphone and the Tablet market with a new iPhone and the possibility of a new iPad set for release before an annual holiday. Apple fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks as two of the most high profile hardware announcements of the year are due in the next month or two.
