As tablets are entering their second and sometimes third generation, the HTC company is bringing another tablet to market. It is going to be called the Puccini.
With a name like that, this tablet should offer some sweet music. Nevertheless, this name may end up being a codename, as many times a manufacturer will use a fake name for a product before putting it into the market. Nevertheless, this tablet is equipped with some strapping hardware. It also is not a smaller sized tablet. This gadget has a 10.1 inch screen, putting it into iPad territory. The looks are simple; a straight slab of black with dark silver trim.
Running on the inside of the HTC Puccini tablet is a 1.5 gigahertz Qualcomm MSM8660 processor. Itis sporting five times faster chip speed than the original Snapdragon. It also has four times the graphics power and uses a fraction of the energy of the original Snapdragon. This is not the only device to be using this chip. TheĀ BSQUARE Mobile Development Platform, a tool for developers to use to optimize their apps, also uses the MSM8660 chip.
The screen on the HTC Puccini tablet is getting the scribe treatment from this manufacturer. The digitizer effect is going to be present on this tablet like it was for the HTC Flyer. A digitizer is nothing more than a special ability given to the LCD screen and a pen. The included pen made for use on the Puccini screen will be used for writing, but with some practice it does more than just write.
Even though Android 3.1 is already issued, the HTC Puccini will be using version 3.0. This is still Honeycomb, and as Google has said, is created for tablets, not smartphones. The 3.0 version has a glitch in the image gallery that version 3.1 fixed. Otherwise, both versions come with a web browser by Webkit that supports the use of Adobe flash files.
This tablet will be able to handle LTE networks. LTE is considered a 4G technology and ranks in speed with WiMaX. The company that will be handling sales is AT&T. Their LTE network is supposed to launch in five cities, San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta and Chicago, so if you are a Texan, this tablet may be just for you. Look for the Puccini to be the flagship tablet for HTC. It will be launched in June with the new AT&T service.
