When TomTom for the Android ecosystem was launched a couple of months back, its support was deemed lacking because it was only limited to a couple of handsets with displays packing a WVGA screen resolution. With this in mind, most of the popular handsets in the smartphone market were not able to take advantage of TomTom and all its neat features and functionalities. It is a good thing that the developer of TomTom has already upgraded the app to version 1.1 and the most notable among the improvements in this latest version of the navigation app is support for more devices including those that pack displays with higher screen resolution such as the HTC One X+.

With this update, the latest version of TomTom now gives a user the capability of saving map data to an SD card instead of having it saved on the app storage partition. The update also brings to the app a new redesigned driving view which is said to have been designed to make key information clearer and a whole lot easier to read. In addition to that, the developer of TomTom has confirmed that with this update, the app is now compatible with over 200 devices but tablet support still seems to be nowhere to be found. Hopefully, the next update will bring just that.

But if you happen to rock an HTC One X+ for your mobile weapon of choice and are interested in a navigation app that is said to be the best in the business, you can now take advantage of the latest version of TomTom which comes with full support for your device. Of course, the price varies depending on your location and from which region you are buying but each TomTom pack will dent your budget by approximately 50 bucks.

As for the HTC One X+, the addition of the handset to the lineup of AT&T was announced back in October and the device already made its debut in the shelves of the wireless provider back in November. The handset is the heavily bumped-up successor of the HTC One X 4G and comes with minor design overhauls. Its measurements come up to 134.4 x 69.9 x 8.9 mm and it tips the scales at 135 grams.

Under the hood, the HTC One X+ already runs Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean but with its flagship status, we are pretty sure that an upgrade to Android 4.2 is planned for the superphone.

The operation of the handset is powered by its NVIDIA Tegra 3 AP37 chipset which comes with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz along with a full gigabyte of RAM. The handset is available in a 32GB or a 64GB variant in terms of storage space while its display measures 4.7 inches diagonally and is of the SuperLCD 2 variety protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Its camera department on the other hand is composed of a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.6MP snapper.
