The True HD Galaxy Note II is one big smartphone. With one of the largest displays ever made for a mobile handset at 5.55 inches, the Galaxy Note II can be a handful for some smartphone owners. But the special one-handed feature the Galaxy Note II offers actually takes into account the large screen size, pushing a portrait-oriented keyboard to one side of the screen. This makes single-handed operation simple, with your four fingers below the handset to hold it, and your thumb operating the conveniently placed keypad.
The Samsung Galaxy Note II is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $149.99.
You even have the option of a QWERTY keyboard or a special keyboard with the alphabet divided across a telephone’s number keys. This is just one of the many cutting-edge features the phone delivers, such as the Multi-Window operation that divides the large screen into two equal and independent displays. You can interact with the handset by touching, talking, drawing and writing, and even speaking. The Samsung Galaxy Note II delivers an extremely large display and powerful hardware package, but remains slim at only 0.37 inches (9.3 mm) in thickness.
The 5.55 inch Super AMOLED display integrates light and proximity sensors for auto brightness adjustment and auto display dimming, which effectively conserve battery power, allowing for up to 15.0 hours of talk time from a single charge. A layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2 is on board for scratch resistance, and resolution runs 720 by 1,280 pixels. Widely regarded as the best viewing experience for high definition video, the large high-resolution screen was designed with a 16 to 9 aspect ratio.
Samsung chose their Exynos 4 (4412) system chip to power the Galaxy Note II smartphone, and that is built around a powerful quad core ARM Cortex A9 central processor that has been clocked at 1.6 GHz. An ARM Mali 400 MP4 quad core graphics processor is also present, as is 16 GB of built-in closet space and 2.0 GB of RAM memory. MicroSD, microSDHC and microSDXC support is present for external memory cards up to 64 GB in size.
A front facing chat cam with a 1.9 megapixel sensor also provides video call support, and a Stereo FM radio with RDS joins a YouTube video player in the handset’s multimedia package. Video capture is available at 1,080P HD resolution with the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder. The Galaxy Note II has Facebook, Twitter and Picasa applications ready for use out-of-the-box, can also act as a central Wi-Fi hub for multiple wireless devices, and offers DLNA video out connectivity.
The Samsung Galaxy Note II can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $149.99.
